Nuncio, consecrating the new sanctuary and Pilgrim House in honor of the 40th anniversary of Our

FATHER FAKY
ORDAINED
ON JULY 7TH
WASHINGTON — The Rev.
Dom Thomas Fahy was ordained
at ceremonies held July 7th at
the Notre Dame Chapel at Trini
ty College. The ordaining priest
was Archbishop O’Boyle of Wash
ington City.
Father is the son of Judge and
Mrs. Charles Fahy. Judge Fahy
is a member of the United
States Court of Appeals and a
former Solicitor General of the
United States. He has three sis
ters, one of whom is a nun-Sister
Charles Mary S.N.D.
Father Fahy is a grandson of
the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas
Fahy of Rome, Ga. His late un
cle, Bernard S. Fahy, is a past
president of The Catholic Lay
men’s Association of Georgia and
was a Knight of St. Sylvester.
Present at the ordination in
addition to Father’s parents and
sisters were Miss Janie Fahy of
Rome, Ga., Miss Sarah Fahy of
Atlanta and Miss Agnes Fahy of
New York City. Aunts of the
newly ordained priest, and
Fathers’ uncles, Albert Fahy of
Rome and Leo Fahy of Washing
ton.

services for Mr. H. P. (Porter)
Laseter were held July 2nd at
Our Lady of the Assumption
Church, Rev. Richard B. Morrow
officiating.
Survivors are his wife, daugh
ter, Mrs. Elizabeth Binion; sis
ter, Mrs. Edna Pinkston, Atlanta;
niece, Mrs. W. J. Holder, Sr. De
catur, a nephew, Mr. J. A. Robin
son.

S. They are the Misses Suzanne
Schroder and Patricia Harrison,
both of who m plan to enter
Manhattanville College, P u r-
chase, New York, in September..
Suzanne is the daughter of Dr.
and Mrs. Spalding Schroder; Pa-,
tricia is the daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. J. H. Harrison.
It’s possible to be born with
ability, but a man has to hustle
for experience.
Seventh Vocation
When Father Joseph H. Sten-
ger, C.SS.R., was ordained a
Redemptorist priest in Ocono-
moWoc, Wise., he became the
seventh member of his family
to embrace religious life. Six
of his sisters are Sisters of St.
Mary, stationed at hospitals in
Missouri. They are among 16
children of Mr. and Mrs. Jos
eph C. Stenger of Glennonville,
in Southeastern Missouri, the
Catholic "‘colony’’ founded by
the late Cardinal John J. Glen-
non. Southeastern Missouri now
has less than one per cent
Catholics in the population.
