Fall Deanery Meeting
Oct. 13th At Augusta
AUGUSTA —Father P. F.
O’Donnell, S.J., pastor of Sacred
Heart Church, was speaker at the
fall luncheon meeting of the Au
gusta Deanery Council of Catho
lic Women, which was held on
October 13, at the Hotel Rich
mond. As this was the fortieth
anniversary of the miracle of the
sun at Fatima, Father O’Donnell’s
topic was “The Message of Fa
tima and the Pilgrim Virgin.”
The speaker stated “Our Lady
had delivered a message for ev
eryone to Fatima. The prophesies
she gave to the children have
been fulfilled, and give evidence
of Divine Origin. Three : statues
were carved from wood from the
locality of Fatima, and sent
throughout the world, to the cit
ies and towns, even to homes.
These Pilgrim Virgins, through
the faith of the people, were re
ceived as Our Lady, herself.
While violence was being plan
ned in Russia, the Blessed Virgin,
in a lowly country, on the other
side of Europe, gave the world a
plan for peace. The history of
Portugal’s rise from misery, is
one example of what the world
can anticipate, if Fatima’s mes
sage is heeded.”

present wer the Very Rev. Daniel
J. Bourke, V.F., Spiritual Mode
rator of the Deanery Council;
Rev. Arthur A. Weltzer. pastor of
