OPERATION CLOTHES CLOSET—Elizabeth McManmon is
pictured atop a huge box containing part of the donation of the
Rent-em Company to the annual Bishop’s Clothing Collection.
The Waktinsville, Ga. firm gave 2,000 pairs of pants and 350 shirts
to the drive. Elizabeth and her mother, Mrs. George A. McManmon,
shown with her, are members of St. Joseph’s Parish, Athens. Mrs.
McManmon is president of the Athens Parish Council of Catholic
Women. Mr. John Preller, owner of Rent-em Inc., is also a mem
ber of St. Joseph’s Parish.

His Eminence Samuel Cardinal
Stritch, Archbishop of Chicago
and society Chancellor, presided
at the meeting which was attend
ed by some 90 archbishops and
bishops, and by clerical and lay
leaders engaged in the society’s
work.
The Cardinal announced that
His Holiness Pope Pius XII had
appointed Archbishop O’Brien to
his seventh five-year term as so
ciety president.
