The Singing Convention.
The usual crowd came to the
convention Sunday well equipped
for song.
The first class in the contest was
Pleasant Valley, under the direc¬
tion of Mr. Sutton. The second
class in o 'nfest . as Flat Branch
directed by Mr. Plemmons. Ellli
jay class directed by Mr. McClure.
Berene class directed by Mr. Gen¬
try. Monntaintown class directed
by Mr. McClure. Tails Creek class
directed by Mr. Flanagin..
All the classes did well and de¬
serve much credit. We wish they
each, could have carried a banner
back with them as each sang charm¬
ingly. However the judges decid¬
ed in favor of Flat Branch.
Gilmer superior court convened
