Through The Knot Hole
BY JULIUS SEIZE-IIER
Editors note: (in order to pro*
vent the clashing of perHolalitlns,
t lilk column 1h to be conducted
with the utmost seecrecy. The
writer of this column is known on
ly to the editor and to the faculty
advisors.)
Mother Ward has none domestic.
She lias been called on several
times during the few weeks
by u handsome bachelor!!! lie is a
traveling salesman, so we hope
Mother Ward doesn’t iall for his
line.
Eleanor Hrlsendine is consider
ing shooting Elizabeth McKoy and
Kress Entrekin and then commit
ting suicide.
Sue McGee has a weakness for a
Carrollton boy not a student that
kept her on the campus a few
days. N’est-ce pas?
Mother Ward would ’!ke to know
the name of the gentleman who
locked the parlor door and kept
her out o fsight of her chickens a
few minutes the other night.
This writer hn.s heard several co
eds pay tribute to our astute
French Prof, as the “cutest” and
(luckiest” mail on the campus. The
odd thing is the use of the same
adjectives.
How is it, that Blanche Evans
and Florence Crawford are always
around the tennis courts when
Beverly Campbell and Oscar liny
are playing? Let’s hope that they
just like to see good tennis, and
aren’t trying to make the boys.
Eleanor Brlsi ndine and Margie
Trice got what the other girls left
at the square dance. They got
Fielding Tows, of the Holy Roll
ers. and Krtas Ent reldn ot the 5
and 10, respectively.
This writer has heard several
complain' , about Henry Kitchens
and Hugh Houseworth annoying'
students during quiet hour. I sug
gest. that they he tried by Rat
Court, and tied in their rooms.

Mr. Ingram would like to know
how Home of the boys find time to
study and keep up their social
obligations.
Alter a long consultation with
the jxjwers tiiat be, the following
have been nominated as social sec
reatrics: Henry Hogg, Gaines
Camp, Jimmie Puckett, Henry
Kitchens, llalmon Wood, Rev.
Fielding Towns, and Ray Dean
Watts. These are the shieks of the
dormitory, and we hope they meet
the approval of the ladies.
Rev. Fielding Towns did not
want his liiair cut because lie had
fallen for his line. Whew, ! ! ! !
By reading this column, you can
get an idea of what your fellow
students think of you, as this is
not the writer’s personal opinion,
which would never get to press.
Mr. Lavender is_ still- keeping
"nooks” for the - _ _ _ .family on
South Street.
I will give you the low' down on
several affairs that I couldn’t get
straightened out this xveek in the
next issue. I can’t invite decapi
tation, you know.
Oy, oy, I had nearly forgotten
about a certain Mr. Camp, of New
nan that is making Martha Stone’s
mind go far from History. Louise
Tyus is also getting interested in
Newnan.
Frances Lovvorn and Made Mur
phy are contending for the love of
little Eddie Lawrence. It seems
that Frances has the down-hill pull,
because of her living in town and
having a car.
Mr. Connelev (Hi school Prof,
giving talk at Dr. R. C.) Mr. Rob
erts, if I say something I should
not, please do not liestilate to stop
me.

THE WEST GEORGIAN
MISS SMITH SPEAKS
AT H. E. MEETING
(Continued from page 1)
To obtain good lighting and pro
tect your eyes—do not strain
them by reading in dim light, have
adequate and sufficient light, avoid
glare, avoid a spotty and excessive
ly uneven light. Use shades over
the bulb so that the ratio of the
room will run from 10:1. Green,
blue, and red shades should never
be used, because they absorb too
much light.
Miss Smith explained the differ
ent types of lights, telling when
and where they were to be used,
and how the dormitory students
could improve the lighting in their
rooms.
A combination fashion show and
ocriticism was held Nov. 2, at the
completion of school dresses made
by the Home Economics Girls, of
lioth woolen and cotton fabrics.
Each girl wore the dress she
made and was judged by another
member of the class, who criticiz
ed the dress from the standpoint
of the occasion for which it was
made, the becomingness to the
wearer, the color and design of
fabric to pattern and wearer, the
technique of making, and the cost
of the finished dress compared
with ready-made garments of simi
lar style.
All the dresses were attractive
in design, reasonable in price and
well made; especially those made
by Doris Wiggins, Virginia Lam
bert, Luta Herndon, Margaret
Cheney, Alice Haney, and Martha
Thomas. Martha Thomas received
special mention because of the orig
inal way in which she combined
her buttons for triming, and Doris
Wiggins was said to be the best
“wearer.’
Miss Callaway reports that the
technique and design of the dress
es made was higher than that of
the average Freshman.
(Continued from page 3)
everything in its place.
Following Miss Dowdy’s talk,
she gave a practical demonstration
in making an attractive and inex
pensive dressing table for our bed
room from an old kitchen table, or
an orange crate, covering it with
chintz, or other cotton fabric.
This dressing table is very at
tractive and makes the room look
much better without spending but
very little money.
FIRST SPEEDBALL GAME
DRAWS LARGE CROWD
(Continued from page 1)
Freshmen ____l 2 3 4
Sophomores _ _ 3 4 7 0
Final score 20 to 14.
The Frosh did their big playing
in the first and last quarters, while
the Sophs came in between breath
ing spells and ran up the score on
them. With this exhibition, every
one was converted to the theory
that Speedball is one grand and
glorious game. It coves completely
the fine points in so many of our
games, yet eliminates the necessity
of strained muscles and needless
injuries found in rougher games',
as a few barked shins is about all
one will get from Speedball. Never
theless, one will find keen enjoy
ment and intense delight in wathc
ing a game of Speedball. This
game will probably become tra
ditional at our College, and is
worthy of our repsect.

character development, ability to
put oneself in another’s place, and
a clear, distinct voice.
Much that this school will at
tempt to teach will he forgotten—a
good play in which the students
take part is never forgotten.
The aim of this new but promis
ing Dramatic Club is to progress
toward adequte plays and careful
and sincere acting, the next one be
