Shortwave Transmits RocktoWGC
A PREVIEW
BY ROBERT HA YMF.
To read the reviews, we’re in for a
treat. To be specific, we are in for a
treat this Friday, Sept. 25, at 8:30 p.m.,
at our new, open-air pavilion
This treat's name is Shortwave.
If the name sounds familiar, it may
lie because you remember it from an
appearance last year, when a crowd of
West Georgia students enthusiastically
greeted Shortwave. If the name is still
not fanuliar, and you weren’t here, then
it may be because you may have heard
them around Atlanta, at the Agora or
Animal Crackers.
It's a versatile band, that plays
anything from Beatles to Beach Boys to
B-52's Also a lot of their own stuff (and
they might have an album - or at least a
45 - out soon), and some very unex
pected selections - say Elvis or Hen

Certainly they look harmless enough,
but the reviews say that these four
bards are some of the more electric
performers. They don’t stay in place -
they move: A lot! High! And wildly!
It was an interesting choice to place
this band at the new pavilion. Can
anything be nicer than sitting with a
friend, out under the stars, listening to
fine rock, feeling the cool breezes blow
away heat, humidity, and that funny
green smoke? And even if the acoustics
are lacking (which they are) it should
be a very enjoyable evening - if all that
has been said is true.
To read the reviews, we are in for a
treat.
To find out, go see Shortwave.
And prepare for an experience...
