Personal problems killing society; when will it end?

Everyday I
hear something that
originates from this
great American society
that sends my mind
into a great depression,
only to be temporarily
relieved by a song of
inspiration from the
gospel mix on my
computer, until some
other form of reality
invades the mental
living space of my
body.
But this alone is an
excellent example of
how we as people can
clearly see a problem,
and just sit around and
wait for someone else
to fix it. Psychologists
call it diffusion of
responsibility, much

When will it end?
During my
journey through
life, I have realized
that this country has
a problem and one
problem only. This
problem is merely
the lack of respect
for oneself and
others, but this problem
has become the root of
many issues in America
including racism, rape,
child molestation,
suicide, partial birth
abortion, and many
other types of murders
which are all behaviors
of a nihilistic society.

When will it end?
More specifically,
I have noticed a huge
problem with the
officials in Jena,
Louisiana.
There was
clearly a racial
issue affecting
the youth of the
city after a few
white students
hung three nooses
from a tree at Jena
High School and
the response from
the officials was,
“it’s just a prank
and adolescents
play pranks. It
hasn’t a threat
to anyone.” With the
racial tensions rising,
the officials continued
to overlook the malign
behavior of the white
students.

However, when
African-American
students got into a fight
with one of the white
culprits, they were
charged with felonies.
When will it end?
This problem exists
because the officials
are probably racist
themselves. Their own
personal problems
have affected six black
students in our society
and as Dr. Martin Luther
King Jr. says, “Injustice
anywhere is a threat to
justice everywhere.”
If we just make it up
in our minds not to let
our personal problems
affect society, our body
and actions have no
choice but to follow
what the mind says.
So let’s fix our own
problems so that we can
fix the world.
