Tri-Parish Revival
he Tri-Parish Holy Name Society
of Saint Benedict, Saint Anthony and
Saint Mary Catholic churches invites

March 1,2, and 3, nightly at 7:00
p.m. The first night will begin at Saint
Benedict the Moor at 566 E. Gordon
St., second night at Most Pure Heart of
Mary at 902 West 36th Street and end
ing at Saint Anthony of Padua at 112
Fell St., followed by a fellowship

Saint William’s Mardi
Gras Dinner
Saint William’s Council of Catho
lic Women of Saint Simons Island
will hold a “Mardi Gras” dinner on
March 4 at 6:30 p.m. in the parish
hall—a potluck supper with meat and
beverages provided by the council.
Proceeds will benefit the missions
and the many projects the council
works to support.

Shrove Tuesday
Saint Benedict the Moor Parish,
Savannah, is celebrating Shrove
Tuesday on March 7 from 6:00-8:30
p.m., with pancakes and sausage. The
charge is $5.00 per family.
Tickets will be sold at Saint
Benedict's after weekend Masses.

Annual Lenten Fish Fry
Knights of Columbus Council
10210, Hinesville, will begin its
Annual Lenten Fish Fry dinners on
March 10. Dinners will be served
every Friday of Lent from 5:00 to
6:30 p.m. at Saint Stephen Church,
399 Woodland Drive. The menu will
consist of deep fried fish, pierogies,
cole slaw, French fries, hush puppies,
dessert and drink. Adult fish dinners
are $5.00 and children (10 and under)
fish dinners are $3.00. Pierogi din
ners and combo dinners (fish and
pierogi) are also available at 4:00 and
5:00 p.m. Stations of the Cross will
begin at 7:00 p.m., following dinner.

Registration for new
school
Saint Frances Cabrini Church,
Savannah, is holding registration for
a new school opening in August
2000, beginning with Pre-K and
Kindergarten, on March 11, from
9:30 A.M. to noon, in the Religious
Education Building. You will need to
bring a birth certificate, copy of
Baptismal Certificate, Immunization
Form # 3227 and a “Parish participa
tion” card. The registration fee is
$100.00 per family. Financial assis
tance forms will be available.

Tara Feis 2000
Tara Feis 2000—Savannah’s pre
mier family festival will be held on
March 11, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00
p.m. at Emmet Park. There no admis
sion charge, for anything except food
and beverages. Tara Feis, a day-long
celebration of Irish culture, in a set
ting of traditional music and dance,
is co-sponsored by the Savannah
Office of Cultural Affairs and the
Tara Feis Committee. No alcohol is
sold or allowed in the Festival Area.
Savannah’s Harry O’Donoghue will
host the Main Stage and entertain
with Irish tunes. Headliners this year
will be the musical variety show
known as Sentimental Hush. The cast
will feature Tony Kenny, Ireland’s
Entertainer of the Year for 1998,
along with comedian and vocalist Joe
Cuddy, world-famous accordion play
er Dermot O’Brien, Irish Dancers
Enda Dunne and Musical Artist and
dancer Louise Bowden. All will per
form to the artistry of the Celtic Rhy
thm Band under the direction of Jim
Doherty. They will give two 90-
minute performances beginning at
noon and 2:30 p.m..
The Children’s Stage will feature the
magic and music of Tom and Debbie
O’Carroll, on a variety of traditional
instruments. Their act includes partici
patory songs, favorite Irish poems and
stories, all told with colorful props and

costume, stage magic and audience in
volvement. Also performing on the
children’s stage will be Jeffrey Dickey
and Christina Norman with a history
and demonstration of the traditional
Irish Harp and Tin Whistle.
Also performing will be Conrad
Hartz and his marionette circus. The
SCAD Media Performing Arts
Audience Improv Troup, led by Jeff
DeVincent, will appear. The Inis Ada
School of Traditional Irish Dance and
The Savannah Irish Dancers will per
form. Funtime Entertainment will pro
vide rides and games. Popcorn, cotton
candy and funnel cakes as dessert for
the hamburgers, chicken fingers and
fries will be provided once again by
Barnes Restaurant. Co-Chairs Mike
Beytagh and Bernadette Winters
invite all to come out and join in the
fun on March 11.
