Catholic Bowling League
The Savannah Catholic Bowling League began the 2000-2001 season
Monday, August 21, at the Lanes on Tibet Avenue. It’s not too late to join.
The league bowls every Monday night at 6:30 p.m. with the exception of cer
tain holidays. You do not have to be an expert ....bowlers’ averages range from
79 to 179. The main goal is fun and fellowship. If you can't bowl every week,
you might want to consider being a substitute.

The Irish Dancers of Savannah will hold an Open House and Registration
on August 28-29 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in Gibbons Chapel at the Chatham
Nursing Home on La Roche Avenue.

Darien “Pilgrim’s Weekend”
Nativity of Our Lady Mission in Darien has been designated by Bishop J.
Kevin Boland as a pilgrimage site this Jubilee year. A “Pilgrim's Weekend”
will be held September 8-9. The Feast of the Nativity of Our Lady is Friday,
September 8. Friday dessert and coffee will be offered at 7:00 p.m. The
Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 followed by the Sacrament of Reconciliation
and a Communion Service. On Saturday, coffee and donuts will be served at
9:00 a.m. The morning’s schedule will include Stations of the Cross at 10:00
a.m., followed by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. In the afternoon, pil
grims can enjoy the coast, returning for 5:00 p.m. Mass and supper. For pil
grims who prefer to spend the afternoon close to the church, after lunch at a
local restaurant, there will be a presentation on the Georgia Martyrs, after
which naturalist Taylor Schoettle will conduct a walk in Hofwyl-Broadfield
Plantation, a 19th century rice plantation which is now a state historic site.

“Welcome Back” Teen Mass
Saint James Catholic Youth Ministry Ministry invites all Savannah junior
and senior high school students to celebrate Mass for the beginning of the new
school year on September 10, the 23rd Sunday in Ordinary Time, at Saint
James Church, 8412 Whitfield Ave., Savannah, at 5:00 p.m. After the Mass, a
light dinner/social will be provided by the Saint James CYM.
