Augusta Deanery Scripture Study
An eight-week study of “Revelation” will be presented on Thursday evenings
from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m., September 21-November 9 in the social hall of Saint
Teresa of Avila Church, 117 Pleasant Home Road, Martinez. Deanery religious
leaders will give the “wrap up” presentation each week.

Savannah DCCW Meeting
The fall meeting of the Savannah Deanery Council of Catholic Women will
be held on September 23 at Saint Michael Catholic Church, Tybee Island, in
the school gymnasium, 714 Lovell Avenue, at 10:00 a.m., followed by a
luncheon at noon. The guest speaker will be Father John J. Fitzpatrick, pastor.
All ladies of the Savannah Deanery are invited to attend. Cost is $5.00.

Low Country Boil
Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Highway 25 across from the Dixie
Crystal Sugar Refinery in Port Wentworth, is hosting its annual Low Country
Boil from 11:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m., September 29-30. Friday is “Take-Out-
Day”—the meal includes shrimp, sausage, com on the cob, boiled potatoes,
and a roll — all for just $6.00. Deliveries can be made to local businesses —
call 912-964-0219 by noon on Thursday to place your order for Friday deliv
ery. Hot dogs, hamburgers and soft drinks are also available. On Saturday, the
event includes games for the kids, a yard sale (Country Store) and fellowship.

Saint James Silent Auction
The Saint James School Silent Auction is set for October 6, at 6:30 p.m.
at the Saint James Narthex, 8412 Whitfield Avenue, Savannah. This year’s
“Putting on the Ritz” event includes a light supper, great auction buys, danc
ing, and fun. Tickets are on sale at Saint James for the bargain price of $15.00
each through October 1 (after October 1, tickets are $20.00 each).

“Smart Discipline”
Parents interested in learning about effective child discipline techniques are
invited to attend a workshop called “Smart Discipline.” The workshop is being
sponsored by Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Macon on October 17, at 7:00
p.m. Sister Larry Koenig, a family therapist from Baton Rouge, Louisiana,
will be the facilitator. The cost is $8.00.
