K. of C. Drive
The Knights of all Councils in the Savannah area will be on the streets
soliciting funds for Citizens with Disabilities and Retarded Citizens (God’s
Special Children) on December 8-9. (This effort was formerly known as the
Tootsie Roll Drive). The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic charitable service
organization.
“Celebrate Music”
The Church of the Most Holy Trinity’s “Celebrate Music” concert series
continues with “Advent Lessons and Carols” on December 10 at 4:00 p.m.
The 10:00 choir, the Gospel Choir, the Saint Patrick’s Children’s Choir and the
Handbell choir will perform. A reception will follow in Saint Francis Hall.
The Church is located at the comer of Telfair and Eighth Streets in historic
downtown Augusta.
Candlelight Concert
Saint Vincent’s Chorus, under the direction of Bernadette Winters, will
present its annual Candlelight Concert in the Cathedral of Saint John the
Baptist, Savannah, on December 10 at 7:00 p.m. The concert is free and open
to the public.
NFP Practitioners Meeting
All diocesan Natural Family Planning practitioners will be meeting at
Saint Matthew Church parish hall in Statesboro on December 12.

“The Cross in The Sand”
Dr. David Gleeson, professor of history at Armstrong Atlantic State Uni
versity, Savannah, will present “The Cross in The Sand; The Early History of
Catholic South Georgia” on December 14 at 7:00 p.m. at the University. A
$5.00 donation for the class is requested. .

Vocation Discernment Retreat
The Diocese of Savannah Vocation Office is sponsoring a Vocation Discern
ment Retreat for single men from January 4-7, 2001 at Camp John Hope,

Jubilee Year Closing Mass
The solemn closing Mass for the Jubilee Year 2000 will be celebrated on
January 7, 2001, the Feast of the Epiphany, at 3:00 p.m. at the Cathedral of
Saint John the Baptist in Savannah. All Catholics of the Savannah Deanery are
invited and encouraged to attend this special liturgy which will mark the end
of this great Jubilee Year of grace.
