Saint James
(Continued from page 3)
Saint James’ permanent church, the
administrative area and cafetorium
were revamped and facilities for a
science lab, computer lab and extra
bathrooms were added. The school
library has since been expanded. The
Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of
Mary, beginning with first principal,
Sister Antoinette Lynn, and continu
ing to present principal, Sister Joan
Felicia O’Reilly, have kept the tradi
tion of fine Catholic education alive

at Saint James School which is
accredited by the Florida Catholic
Conference.
The continued growth of Saint
James Church underscores changes
which have taken place since the
days when it was “that little church
in the country” off quiet, tree-shaded
Montgomery Cross Road.
Rita H. DeLorme is a volunteer
in the Diocesan Archives.
