Miss Thebom was the first principal star ever to appear at Theater Under The Star*. This occurred two year* ago when she scored a hug* per sonal success in "The King and I” at Chastian amphitheater. Her me/zosoprano is alio fami liar to Atlantans because of her many Metropolitan Opera appe arances and concert tours. Miss Thebom is well suited for the role of Sally Adams, United States ambassador to Lichtenburg, although it may stem a frivolous part for such a distinguished opera singer. Miss The bom's exquisite voice and effervescent stage persona lity in this capacity presents an entirely new facet of her great talent. She was travelled and loured all over the world, including concerts in Russia and Roumania. She is, in reality, a roving goodwill ambassador RADIO CAB1 DECATUR CO-OP CABS 910 Howard Ave. 24-Hour Service Passengers Insured Ww Anywhere DU 74MI — DR. 7*1701 DECATUR. DA. for the United States. "Call Me Madam" is a subtle satire of American officials ab road. The star ring role is Mrs. Sally Adams, party-giver supreme who falls In love with Cosmo Constantine, Finance Minister of the Duchy of Llchtenberg. "Call Me Madam" has the magic touch of Irving Berlin, with 17 musical numbers, In cluding "It's a Lovely Day To day," "You're Just In Lovs," and "The Best Thing for Me Would Be You." The show ran on Broadway for 644 per formances and was then made Into a very successful movie, Miss LaFoy Receives Degree Miss Mirle LaFoy, daughter of Mr, and Mrs. Gibson La Foy,of Our Lady's Pirlsh, Car rollton, was recently awarded a Master's Degree In English from Tulane, University in New Orleans, She received her B» A. de gree from Marymount College In Tarrytown, New York, after which she taught at Marymount International School In Paris, France, for a year.
