Left to right, Mr. Edward Sprayberry, son, Daniel; Mrs. Edward Sprayberry, son, Michael; Father Govern, Connie Kimball, Rose Mary Jordan, Jackie Melton, and Oscar Cash. SECOND HALF WIX Pius X Lions Upset Chamblee St. Pius X came from behind to overwhelm a flashy Chamblee team. The Lions scored all their points in the second half to win 21-6. Chamblee dominated play in the first half and kept the Gold and White in check. Bulldog backs David Nemeth and R1TTMEIR SCORES Bob Swillv looked impress ive as Chamblee drove for their first quarter score. Nemeth ran 16 yards for the touchdown. IN THE SECOND half it was all St. Pius. Chamblee fumbled the second half kickoff and Lion tackle Rick Gadd fell on the ball at the Chamblee 27 yard line. Wildcat 11 Treed By Cadets, 19-7 BY BOB BOOKMAN The Marist Cadets broke open a scoreless deadlock early in the second period to drub the Russell Wildcats 19-7, Friday night at Ponce de Leon Park. Mid-way through the first quarter the Cadets began a time-consuming march with quarterbacks Robert de Golian and Bill Reitmeier directing the attack. This drive covered some 75 yards on the field and eight minutes on the clock. Rhode Hill, Cadet co-captain, capped the march with a two yard gallop for six points. Den nis Withers' conversion attempt was blocked, as the Cadets le ad 6-0, MOMENTS LATER Michael Murphy, Marist half-back, gat hered in a punt on his own 28 yard line and raced 72 yards oyer the dusty turf to pay dirt. The extra point by Withers* was good. Marist led 13-0. The Wildcats took advantage of a blocked kick for their only score late in the second quar ter. Russell marched 25 yards with Calvin Hudson going over from the eight-yard line. The half ended with Marist ahead 13-7. THE THIRD quarter saw offe nsive action, but no scoring. The Cadets mbved the ball at will behind the fine blocking of the interior linemen. Hill, Murphy, and Louis Lombardy paced the C* det running game. In the final period Marist quarter-back, Bill Reitmeier scored from the two to make the final score, Marist 10-Rus- seli 7. LEADS REGION John Griffin took over and led the Lions goalward. He passed 13 yards to end Tom Angelich for the TD. Paul Faletti added his first of three extra points to give St. Pius a slim 7-6 lead. DENNY WIGBELS inter cepted a pass to stop a Cham blee drive at the Lions 15 yard line. Two plays later John Grif fin went around left end, cut back, and raced 52 yards to the Chamblee 30. After two running plays Griffin passed 25 yards to Denny Wigbels for a touchdown and a 14-6 score. Chamblee had trouble moving the ball against the lions most of the second half. A fumble by Chamblee on fourth down at their own 5 gave the Gold and White another chance to score. JOHN GRIFFIN sprinted to the one and Paul Faletti bulled the remaining yard for the score. Faletti added the PAT to make it 21-6. Next week the Lions play For est Park at Joseph Bean Stad ium. This is the Homecoming game for St. Pius. St. Joseph Pounds S. Gwinnett, 21-0 MIVI CHRIST AS..
