The team then participated in the annual Thanksgiving Bowl Game on Dec. 1, and conquered their opponents in a round ro bin play, thus giving them an overall record of 18 victories. A perfect football record for the year. This was an outstanding ac complishment considering that the small number of boys in the upper grades (only 16 out of a possible 22) were in com petition with schools able to draw on as many as 100 boys per school in selecting a team. MR. CHET Jones, Athletic Director and football coach at Sacred Heart School stated he had coached many fine football teams at the school over the years, but this year’s team surpassed them all in over all confidence, enthuasiasm and will to win. He indicated pick ing out one or more outstand ing players would be a diffi cult task, Inasmuch as it was an overall team effort all year that gave It the momentum to continue its long string of vic tories culminating with the final Thanskgiving Bowl Game and the crown. The school was presented two trophies symbolic of its su premacy in grammar school football 1964, which will be placed on display in the show case with the many other tro phies won over the years.
