Cadets, Lions
Post Victories;
Hawks Drop 5th
St. Pius, Marist and St. Joseph
have another full night of
football Friday after the Lions
and Cadets took wins last week.
The Lions will face
Westminster Friday night, the
Cadets play Woodward Academy
and St. Joseph faces R. L.
Cousins. .
St. Pius won its 7th game last
week against one loss, edging
North Springs 14-7 behind the
running of Joe Pelt and Steve
Morgan.
The two back netted 319 of.
the team’s 330-yard total with
Morgan rushing for 181. The
Lions scored twice in the first on
three-yard runs by Morgan and.
Pelt. The Lion defense shutout
the losers until the fourth
quarter.
Marist, now 3-4, clipped
Henderson 20-14. The Cadets
scored in the first, second and
fourth quarters. Scoring for
Marist were Tim Malone, Eric
Benjamin and Mark DiCarlo. As
the game ended, Marist was on
the Henderson four-yard line.
The Hawks were less fortunate
and dropped a 25-3 decision to
Lithonia. St. Joseph’s only score
came on a 16-yard field goal by
Steve Stanger in the fourth
quarter. St. Joseph is now 1-5 for
the season.
