Eagles Still Winning
The Marist varsity basketball
team still has a winning season
with a 5-2 record, Arthur Otwell,
Coach of the War Eagles, is very
impressed with the importance of
the War Eagles in the last two
games.
On the 14th of December the
Marist War Eagles traveled to the
North Fulton Gym to play the
Bulldogs in a rough game. The
Marist War Eagles defeated North
Fulton 39-46.
High point man of the night was
Rick Hollman with 25 points.
This was the season high for Rick
and the team.
19 points were dropped in by
David Henritze. Bert Trapani
cleared the boards with 14
rebounds.
Saturday, December 14, Marist
went to Westminster’s home
court to play the huge Wilcats.
Although the Wildcats were large
in size, the Eagles were great at
getting points. The War Eagles
flew over the Wildcats 41-53.
During the game, the boards were
controlled mostly by
Westminister with 20 rebounds.
Rick Hollman offset that strong
point by popping in 23 points for
the Eagles.
Greg Jernigan, with his
outstanding free-throw shooting,
kept the Eagles hot and running
with 9 points^^^^
s With the coming of Christmas,
Marist students are preparing to
swing into the holiday spirit
before the school recesses,
December 20th.
During the week before
Christmas, each homeroom will
be decorated, and these rooms
will be judged by members of the
faculty. The best looking room

The Student Council is
sponsoring a collection of food,
clothing, and money for two
needy families in the Atlanta

others, too. On December 11 “
Sophomore Tom Barton spoke to
several of the Religion classes on
the Jewish Religion. Tom
explained, in some detail, the
Jewish faith by giving
information on the Jewish
service, the Hebrew language, the
history and main beliefs .of the
religion. He also expounded on
the Jewish Holy Days, traditions
and rituals. Not only were the
talks informative, but they were
entertaining as well.
On December 20th, no regular
classes will be held, but all
students will report to school for
special Christmas activities. A
Christmas skit will be presented
by the Drama Club in the Gym,
and the Marist Band will hold a
concert afterwards. Then, the
Annual Senior-Faculty Basketball
Game will take place, which just
goes to prove that the faculty
can’t be all bad if they are really
“on the ball”.
