Marist dropped two games
to Clarkston and Wills last
Friday and Saturday nights.
The War Eagles record is now
2 and 3.
Friday the War Eagles
traveled to Clarkston High
looking for another win after
West Rome but only ran into
trouble that night. Marist fell
68-56. Things were pretty
well even until the second
quarter when Marist fell
behind and was never able to
close the gap. Even though
Marist shot well, Clarkston
came right back to widen the
gap-

To Blacks
CHICAGO (NC) - The
Carmelite Fathers at Mt.
Carmel High School here plan
to renovate five apartment
buildings near the school and
donate them to black
families.
Father Daniel McFadden,
principal, said the school will
seek FHA financing to
renovate the buildings,
located on property the
priests purchased over 10
years ago for additional
school facilities.
Financial problems
brought on by high operating
costs at the school ruled out
expansion plans, Father
McFadden said.
The priest said a 60-family
tenant group, organized by
the Black Center for Strategy
and Rehabilitation in
Chicago, will eventually own
the buildings in a cooperative
arrangement.

faced Wills High at Marist.
Marist was looking for a
comeback from the night
before but it only spelled
disaster. Marist fell again
59-57.
The game started but with
Marist defense lookjng good.
Wills only scored 6 points in
five minutes, but soon
enough each team was tied
and remained that way at the
half 26-26.
The rest of the night it was
back and forth with each
team leading several times. As
the closing moments came, it
was Marist ahead. Wills
fought desperately and tied
the score. Marist was in
control when a technical foul
was called that gave Wills the
game. The game was carried
into overtime with one
second left. Wills added two
foul shots to make it 59-57.
Leading scorers for Marist
were Churck Fenn with 24
points and Pat Flanagan with

BITING THE HAND THAT BLESSED HIM, Ronnie Brooks, 3, was little impressed with the
dignity of a Cardinal as he nipped the finger of Cardinal John Krol, who had been affectionately
tickling the children under the chin at a Christmas party for handicapped children in Philadelphia.

Archbishop Pays Visit To NW Ga.* ?
The weekend of Dec. 12 -
13 • was a busy one for
Archbishop Thomas A.
Donnellan as he visited two
north Georgia parishes, Saint
Gerard’s in Fort Oglethorpe
and Our Lady of the Mount
in Lookout Mountain, Ga.
The occasion for the visits
was the celebration of the
Sacrament of Confirmation.
In both parishes,
approximately 35 children
and adults received the
Sacrament. After the Mass,
receptions were held at which
the Archbishop was able to
spend a leisurely time meeting
and talking With parishioners.
The Archbishop is making
it a regular practice, on his
visits to parishes for
Confirmation or other
occasions, to make himself
available to any parishioners
who would like to have a
chance to speak personally
with him.
In Fort Oglethorpe, the
Archbishop had an hour and
half session with a delegation
of the young people from the
parish. Afterwards, he
indicated his satisfaction with
having had the opportunity
to discuss things with them.
Both parishes in the North
Georgia mountains are staffed
by the Redemptorist Fathers
who serve the people of the
Archdiocese in several areas
of the state.
