The Colson Chorale is a
group of singers from the
Atlanta area. Most of the
members sing professionally
or serve as choral directors.
The Sunday program will
consist of works by Schiitz,
Mendelssohn, Casals,
Bruckner, Ives, Felciano,
Rorem, Manz and Booth.
Director Colson is
organist-choirmaster at All
Saints Episcopal Church. He
is also director of choral
music for the upper school of
Lovett School and is a
teaching affiliate at Emory
University.
Robert Little,
organist-choirmaster at St.
Thomas More Church,
encourages all Atlantans to
attend the concert. The
concert is one in which there
will be something for all ages,
he said, and will be a program
that will be long remembered.
Stewing
With Shirley
BY SHIRLEY WARD
The other night we had dear old friends over for
dinner and what fun it was to talk over the old times. We
first met this couple when we were both stationed at
Tucson, Arizona, and that was way back in 1957. So it
has been a long friendship, and now that they live here
in Atlanta, we look forward to seeing them often. For
our dinner I had prepared chicken O’kada, rice, and taco
salad, with hot fruit in sherry over ice cream for dessert.
It was a simple meal, but we all enjoyed it. I told her
about the fine cook our daughter is and the meal she had
prepared over Thanksgiving and she was so interested, I
am sharing it with you.
CHILI PEPPERS AND CHEESE RICE
2 cups cooked rice (this is about 1 cup uncooked rice)
1 small flat can of green chili peppers diced
1 small carton sour cream
1/2 cup grated Cheddar cheese
Mix all ingredients and pour into a greased 2 l A quart
casserole. Bake in a 350 degrees oven until bubbly -
about 30 minutes. You may wish to put additional
cheese on top of mixture.

FLANK STEAK SUZANNE
Marinate a piece of flank steak (about 2V4 pounds) in
1/3 cup rum, 1/3 cup soy sauce and 2 Tablespoons oil
overnite. Cook the meat on the charcoal grill for about 8
minutes each side. The taste is much different if you
prepare this under your oven broiler, so if possible cook
it outdoors on the grill. This serves 4.
