FOURTH TO EIGHTH DAY - A ROMAN HOLIDAY
Today’s traveler is an independent “citizen of the world” who does
not wish to be rushed from Point A to Point B at breakneck speed.
Realizing this, we have arranged a carefully balanced schedule of
guided tours (your group will pick the day you want them) as well
as free time for you to savor all that is Rome and Italy. One of the
guided tours is a half-day sightseeing tour of the Eternal City led
by an English-speaking guide aboard a private motor coach. You may
wish to schedule this tour early, selecting the many exciting spots
and countless shrines you may return to later for a longer visit.
From the silent and timeless corridors of the Catacombs to the
awesome beauty of Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel, the hallowed and
historical fountainhead of Catholic faith will unfold before your
eyes ... at the pace you set, and at your convenience!
On another day of your group's choice, you will board a private
motorcoach to travel through quaint and picturesque Roman hills
and towns on your way to Artena and the famed Borghese Castle.
There you will be the guest of Prince Borghese himself as you thrill
to the sights and memories of one of Italy’s oldest and most noble
families.
What else?
An entire history book — and then some.
The Roman Forum. The Colosseum. The Vatican Gardens. The side
way cafes of Via Venato. Or there are optional memorable sidetrips
to the lush waters of the Isle of Capri ... the magnificent ruins of
Pompei ... the Renaissance splendor of Florence, and the tune
laden streets of Naples.
You name it. Our representative will assist you in getting there
with grace and ease.
NINTH DAY
Last night, you threw coins into the glittering waters of the world-
renowned Trevi Fountain . . . following the tradition portrayed in
"Three Coins In A Fountain” that will insure your return to Rome.
Now it is time to board your homeward bound Alitalia jet . . . re
membering the words of Cardinal Newman who once observed. “What
can I say of Rome but that it is the first of all cities? All I ever saw
are dust compared with its majesty and glory."

Weekly homily. . .
Dear Editor:
The average Catholic,
compared to other Christians,
is woefully ignorant of Holy
Scripture. Emphasis is being
made through adult
education classes to correct
this and this will pay
dividends in the future.
The greatest opportunity
to reach most Catholics is at
Mass. However, often because
of lack of sufficient time to
c ompletely discuss the
meaning of the message in the
reading, the meaning of the
message is not delivered in
detail. Often a homily isn’t
delivered and other Church
matters are discussed.
I respectfully urge
Archbishop Donnellan and
the staff of the GEORGIA
BULLETIN to include in the
paper a homily on the
following Sunday’s readings. I
have read recently “Thoughts
from Sunday’s Mass” by
Father John McDougherty S.
J. in the Catholic weekly
THE WANDERER. This is
apparently his specialty as he
does a masterful job of
presenting a homily on each
Sunday’s reading. I would
like to see his writings
included in the GEORGIA
BULLETIN, or another’s of
equal ability.
I feel the average Catholic’s
knowledge of scripture will
increase from a weekly
homily and, as a result, his
faith will increase.

Devotion to Mary . . .
Dear Editor:
Doubtlessly you will agree,
that among the current
myriad of human priorities
this generation is being called
upon to face, the attainment
of world peace is
unquestionably our prime
concern. Yet tragically, not
only have we lost sight of the
true meaning of the word
“peace,” but we have
blatantly disregarded the sole
source from which a just and
lasting accord may be
obtained. Mankind can no
longer deny the fact in all
consciousness that the dark
and sinister days in which we
live is indeed another age of
satan. It is therefore in this
eleventh hour that I humbly
ask that you grant me your
assistance toward reaching
your many readers by
printing the attached letter.
Peace in its purest form
can and will be ours if we act
collectively NOW! We have
that assurance from the
Mother of God herself who at
Fatima in 1917 unequivocally
declared that in the end her
Immaculate Heart would
triumph. “Someday,” said Bl.
Maximilian Kolbe, “the
statue of the Immaculate will
rise high above the Kremlin
towers.” Mary stands in
readiness - waiting for
humanity to acknowledge its
Creator. Then and only then
will she again crush the head
of the lurking serpent. It is
for this reason that I ask that
you publish the enclosed
letter.
Please be assured of my
lasting indebetedness and
continued prayers.
(The letter follows:)
What a note from YOU can
do.
On July 17, 1972, the
statue of the Pilgrim Virgin of
Our Lady of Fatima openly
wept for all to see in New
Orleans, Louisiana.
Immediately, while news of
the phenomenon was racing*
across the wires of the
Associated Press, vast legions
of devoted sons and
daughters of the Immaculate
instantly turned their
thoughts back some 55 years
to the year 1917 when the
Queen of Heaven uttered
another cry to her erring
children. It was a cry from
the Cova da Iria, a rocky
grazing ground located some
two miles from the tiny,
obscure Portuguese village of
Fatima. In a series of six
apparitions she warned of
dire abominations that would
soon befall all of mankind
because of its refusal to obey
the laws of the Creator of the
universe. A diabolical heresy
would come out of Russia,
she cautioned, and would
spread like a serpant into
every country on the face of
the earth. There would be
much hunger, death,
persecution, and war as a
result. The hour even then
was late, and she alone was
aware of the fact. Now it is
the eleventh hour and again
she is crying - perhaps one
final time before humanity
plunges into the abyss of
total and lasting darkness.
The message of the Mother
of Christ and our Mother as
delivered at Fatima, cannot
and must not continue to be
ignored. In order that many,
many millions of people may
again see and hear that
soul-saving heavenly
communication, I have over
the past year completed the
manuscript of a 90-minute
television play titled, A CRY
FROM THE COVA. It is
presently being reviewed and
evaluated by Duane C. Bogie
of Foote, Cone & Belding
who is soley responsible for
the selection and production
of all scripts for the
HALLMARK HALL OF
FAME series which is
televised by the NBC
Television Network.
I ask you please, in the
Holy Name of Mary, will you
lend me your support. You
can do so by merely writing
to Mr. Bogie to assure him
that there is indeed a vast and
receptive audience who
would much welcome having
A CRY FROM THE COVA
based on the Fatima
apparitions televised
nationally as a HALLMARK
HALL OF FAME production
via the NBC Television
Network. His address is: Mr.
Duane C. Bogie, President, F,
C&B Productions, Foote,
Cone & Belding, 401 North
Michigan Avenue, Chicago,
Illinois 60611.
Gratefully and prayerfully
yours in the Immaculate
Heart of Mary.
