McKeesport school
district, of a Pennsylvania
Supreme Court decision
upholding the law as
constitutional.
Just one year ago, the
court refused a similar
appeal filed by school
officials in Pittsburgh and
the Requea Valley school
district.
Both appeals centered
on the argument that
busing non-public school
students across district
lines gave them a benefit
not available to public
school students, most of
whom do not cross district
lines to get to Class. The
McKeesport appeal noted
that only the district’s
special education students
receive free transportation
to schools outside the
district.
