St. Vincent de Paul
Seminary in Boynton
Beach, Fla. has nine
Atlanta men studying for
the sacred priesthood.
(The majority of our
seminarians in their final
four years are at St.
Vincent de Paul
Seminary). These
Atlantans showed their
“stuff” in dominating a
most delightful “Evening
of Music” at the Seminary,
Nov. 20, 21 and 22. The
rector, Father Felipe
Esteves, shook my hand
several times during and
after the ceremony
because of the incredible
talent of our students.
Albert Jowdy created
an outstanding program of
unusual and original
design. Bob Spann,
pictured right, and Dan
Stack were soloists.
Deacons Carlos Miyares
and Brent Bohan were the
stage managers. Jeff
Martin, center above, Jim
Murray, Wayne Dyer and
Jimmy Adams, above left,
were involved in the
activities and work that
made the program
possible. Their talents and
work made it a proud
night for the Church of
Atlanta, and an exciting
prospect of their future
work among us as Christ’s
priests.
If any of you are
traveling in Florida, stop

by St. Vincent’s. It is on
Military Trail in Boynton

forget to look up nine of
our future priests
studying, working and
praying there. (Photos by

Lay woman Named
To Tribunal Post
DULUTH, Minn. (NC) - The Vatican has given
Bishop Paul F. Anderson of Duluth permission to
appoint a laywoman to act as defender of the
bond in marriage cases in the Duluth diocesan
marriage tribunal.
Cardinal Pericle Felici, prefect of the Supreme
Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura, the church’s
supreme court, gave Bishop Anderson permission
for a five-year period to appoint Mary J. Donahue
defender of the bond for individual cases. The
permission was granted, the cardinal said,
“because of the shortage of qualified priests” and
in consideration of Mrs. Donahue’s “experience
and dedication.”

Mausoleums are memorials built for the ages and endure forever-
Above ground entombment has been the chosen way of burial for
people of all faiths since the early Christian era and in earlier ancient
times too.
Famous examples include London’s Westminster Abby- tomb of
English Royalty surrounding the Shrine of Edward the Confessor.
Many kings and queens are entombed in the Chapel of Henry the
Seventh. Westminster Abby is crowded with tombs and memorials of
famous British subjects, too.
