THE FIRST FRIDAY MEN’S CLUB of Atlanta will
hold its monthly luncheon meeting Fri., June 7 at
Sacred Heart Church immediately following the 12:10
p.m. Mass in the downstairs meeting area. James L.
Webb, solicitor general, state court of Fulton County,
will be guest speaker. Father Daniel J. O’Connor is
spiritual adviser to the club. All men are invited.
Slide presentation on the Queen of the World pilgrimage
to FATIMA from Atlanta will be held at St. Joseph’s
Church, 87 Lacy St., Marietta, on Sun., June 2 after the 10
a.m. Mass in the library meeting room. Bob Summers will
relate his experiences while living in Fatima. Those in
terested in the pilgrimage, from Aug. 19 to 28, are welcome

The St. John Vianney Conference of the St. Vincent
de Paul Society will hold its spring FLEA MARKET
on Sat., June 1 from 9 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. at 1920

St. Joseph’s Hospital has scheduled a course in
NATURAL FAMILY PLANNING which begins Sun., June 9

The annual LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE of the
Atlanta Archdiocesan Council of Catholic Women will
be held at St. Ann’s Church, 4905 Roswell Road,
Marietta on Wed., June 5, beginning with registration

A member of the faculty at MARIST SCHOOL, Molly
Weinburgh, above, will spend the summer in Zimbabwe as
part of a research team studying how infant health is af
fected by the mother’s diet both before and after birth. The
team, headed by Dr. Pisca Mugwire, of Ohio University,
has been invited to make the study by the African nation
whose high infant mortality rate is believed caused by a
dietary imbalance. Mrs. Weinburgh, who is volunteering
her time and service, says “The moment I heard about the
project, I knew it was the type I wanted to be a part of
because it’s a combination of research and practical help
for people who want to help themselves.” Her involvement
is made possible through funding by the Lyndhurst Founda
tion in Chattanooga, the Georgia Association of Indepen
dent Schools and Marist. She has been a member of the
Marist faculty for six years and is a graduate of Agnes Scott
College and Emory University.
Corpus Christi Church, Stone Mountain, invites
parishioners and friends to the annual PARISH PIC
NIC on Sun., June 9 after 12:30 p.m. Mass on the
church grounds. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be
available. Fun and games include: moon walk, dunk
tank, face painting, balloon toss, pie-eating contest,
water pie and watermelon eating contests, carnival

ing, are needed at the clinic operated by the Georgia Nurses
Foundation for patrons of the Community Kitchen at St.
Luke’s Episcopal Church, 435 Peachtreet St., NE. The
clinic, staffed by nurse practioners Jean Alley and Sue Mc
Connell, is open Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. un
