The first annual ST. ANTHONY’S FESTIVAL will
be held Sat., June 15 from 1 to 6 p.m. on the church
grounds, E. Main St., Blue Ridge. A spaghetti dinner
will be served and there will be an arts and crafts
booth, mime performances and music. The chapel
will be open for visitors. For more information call

St. Joseph Catholic Church and Emmanuel Episcopal
Church of Athens will jointly offer a vacation church school
program called “GLAD DAYS” for children from pre
school age three through the sixth grade, from June 10 -14,
9 a.m. to 12 noon. Morning activities of prayer, music, art,
and playtime are planned, as well as a special Family
Night on Thursday with a hot dog roast and a softball game
between the youth groups from each parish. Clergy and lay
persons from both churches will participate as guest
ministers and teachers. The week will end with a special
prayer service and party for the children. For more infor

ST. JOSEPH HIGH SCHOOL classes of 1964, 65, 66
and 67 will celebrate Reunion ’85 with a dinner dance
at the Radisson Inn and Conference Center, 1-75 and
Howell Mill Rd., at 6:30 p.m. Sat., July 6. On Sun.,
July 7, at 2 p.m. there will be a family picnic in the
Upper Triangle Pavillion at Stone Mountain Park.

The American Red Cross BLOOD DRIVE will be at St.
Thomas More Catholic Church, Decatur, on Sun., June 9,
from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. On Sun., June 16, the blood drive
will be at All Saints Church, Dunwoody, from 8:30 a.m. until
1 p.m.

BRING A FRIEND to the parish backyard picnic
scheduled for Sun., June 9 at St. Anthony’s Church, Atlanta.
The fun will begin after the 11:30 a.m. Mass. Parishioners
may bring friends from other faiths and Catholics who need
to be welcomed back into the Church. Christian Service

The ATLANTA VOCATION SUPPORT GROUP will meet
Saturday June 15, 1 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church. Father
Dan O’Connor will speak about vocations to the religious
life. Refreshments will be served. All men and women who
are thinking about the priesthood or religious life are urged
to take advantage of this opportunity to meet others with

Shrine Of Saint Jude

the oldest Catholic house of
worship in Western Tennessee.
The decades-old shrine may be
visited for meditation and prayer
Monday through Friday between
11:00 A.M. and 1:00 P.M. and
during all liturgical functions.
Mass is celebrated every day of
the year for all petitions made at
the Shrine in person or by mail.
We offer four Solemn Novenas a
year during the last nine days of
January, April, July and
October. The Shrine holds several
relics of Saint Jude.

CORE GROUP members led their sixth
grade classmates at St. Thomas More
School, Decatur, in initiating a monthly
schoolwide collection of aluminum cans.
Last month the students collected 12,000
cans. Money raised is contributed to Catholic
Relief for the starving children in Africa.

A NEW MASS SCHEDULE will begin the weekend of
June 22 - 23 at Christ Our Hope parish, Lithonia. The Satur
day vigil Mass will be celebrated at 5:30 p.m. in the rectory,
2010 Spencer Oaks Lane, in the Great Oaks subdivision, one
mile south of the Redan post office. The Sunday morning
Mass at 10 a.m. will be celebrated at the Lithonia High

A slide presentation on the Queen of the World
PILGRIMAGE TO FATIMA is scheduled for St. Paul of the
Cross Church, Atlanta, after the 8:30 a.m. Mass on Sun.,
