The fourth annual convention of the GEORGIA ORGANIC
GROWERS Association will be held Sat., Nov. 9 from 8 a.m.
to 5 p.m. at the conference center of Druid Hills
Presbyterian Church, 1026 Ponce de Leon Ave. Guest
speakers include Virgil Adams, garden writer for the Atlan
ta Journal and Constitution, and Barbara Pleasant, writer
for Rodale Press. There will be films and lunch and child

ST. THOMAS MORE SCHOOL, 624 W. Ponce de Leon Ave.,
Decatur, will hold an auction on Sat., Nov. 16 at 8 p.m. in the
parish hall. Capt. Dave Foulk of WSB Radio will be auc
tioneer. Items up for bidding include a trip to Amelia Island
and Waterford crystal. Viewing and silent auction will begin
at 7 p.m. Wine and cheese will be served. Proceeds will
benefit the school.

Bazaar Helpers
“Winter Wonderland" is the theme for the annual
Christmas bazaar to be held Sun., Nov. 17 from 7:30
a.m. until 3 p.m. at St. Jude the Apostle School, 7171
Glenridge Drive in Sandy Springs. School pupils
displaying bazaar items in the photo above are, from
left, Nicholas Boros, Megan Herr, Laura Dillon and
Joseph Baker.
An “all you can eat” pancake breakfast will open
the event. Features will be a craft show, Santa Claus
and a “Secret Shop” for the youngsters.
SINGLES GROWTH WORKSHOP will be held Sat., Nov.
23 at 7 p.m. at the Hyland Center, Christ the King Cathedral.
Doug Rosenau, Virginia Hall, Father Kerry Clark, S.J., and
Father Dave Kukielski will speak on emotional, professional

St. Joseph’s Hospital will observe O.R. NURSES DAY on
Thurs., Nov. 14 with laser surgery demonstrations and a
simulated operation as two of the activities scheduled. Class
groups from seventh grade to college level are invited, along
with other area groups and individuals, to visit the hospital
operating room to view a slide presentation of procedures
and video of open heart surgery. Group appointments
should be made from Nov. 11-13 by calling 851-7360. The
operating room will be open to visitors from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
on Nov. 14
