St. Pius X High School
recently was awarded a
$1,000 check by the Atlanta
Chapter of the American
Red Cross. The award was
in recognition of the
school’s 1986 health fair
and was based on criteria
relating to the school’s in

As part of its sponsorship
of eight schools having stu

metropolitan Atlanta area
last year. Steak & Ale Cor

schools.
The health lair was co

of students, faculty, and
parental volunteers.
Sister Finneran and her
group are currently work

of humor, her deep love of
God and compassion for
her fellow man endeared
her to the patients, their
families, and the public
alike. Because of her,
many were drawn to
volunteer their services to
the Home or to aid the
Home financially, enabling
Sister Daly to make many
improvements in the
Home.
After returning to the
Mother House, Sister Daly
was again appointed
superior, this time of
Rosary Hill Home in New
York. Finishing her term of
office she was reassigned
to Our Lady’s Home in
Atlanta in 1977 where she
remained until 1979 when
she again returned to the
Mother House following an
auto accident and a stroke.
Sister Daly celebrated
her 50th anniversary as a
Hawthorne Dominican in
1985.
Because of the stroke she
suffered, Sister had dif
ficulty communicating
with people, but she never
lost her sense of humor or
her desire to be doing
something for others.
