Board
Field visits were made by the
Section Staff to Greensboro, North
Carolina, and to Shreveport, Louis¬
iana, to discuss rural area program
with several of the communities in
both of these sections. A si m i l ar
meeting will be held in Texas for
the same purpose. The national
J W B has assigned a person to
the Southern, Section Office who
will on a demonstration basis, de¬
velop a rural area program some¬
where in the South. The plan
calls for demonstrating in small
communities (of anywhere from 20

Youth Council Acts
On Ping-Pong Set-up
The JEA Youth Council has
been struggling with the prob¬
lem of ‘Who is next in ping,
pongt?”, a problem which has
developed as a result of the in¬
creased interest in the game.
As a result of its meeting held
on November 13th the Council
has recommended the following
decisions in regard to the use
of the ping-pong facilities.
1— Council recommends the in¬
stallation of a second ping
pong table.
2— Order of play will be deter¬
mined by the order which a per¬
son’s name appears on the ping
pong playing list posted in the
lobby.
3— One table will be set aside
for the girls when a majority
of them are present, as for ex¬
ample, cn Tuesdays, Thursdays,
or Sundays.
4— Council recommends that
persons not adhearing to these
regulations be suspended from
using the pingrpong table.
The members of the Youth
Council meet every Sunday at
11:00 A. M. and are now in the
midst of considering the devel¬
opment of other activities for
youth at the Alliance.
ment should be watched very closely
by Southern communities, for in our
sparsely populated areas it can have
real value for this part of the coun¬
try.
Based on a study conducted in
Jacksonville, Fla. they have request¬
ed recommendations of personnel
for a Jewish Comunity Center pro¬
gram in that community. The Sec¬
tion office worked closely with the
Personnel Committee of the Jack¬
sonville Community Council in find¬
ing adequate personnel for that pro¬
gram.
