Pan-Americana (*lul> The Pan-Americana Club, as its name suggests, is an organization whose main interest is the study of the American nations—their life and history—with spe cial emphasis on the Latin-American peoples. This year has been a very active one for the club. It has presented tw'o quiz programs: Take It or Leave It and an Information Pi.easf.. The latter had Dr. Rufus E. Clement as quiz master and a panel of experts consisting of Mi-- Elor- ence Read, Mr. Kemper Harreld. Mr. Clarence \. Bacote. Dr. Ira deAugustine Reid, and Dr. Norman I. Coleman. In connection with Pan-American Day the club sponsored two programs. On Thursday evening, April 13. at the time of the prayer meeting service, there was presented a period of Latin-American music. On Friday morning, April 14, the theme at the chapel service was the life and work of an outstanding Latin- American poet. These presentations have not been the only contribution that the club has made to the college life this year. In the early part of the session it purchased a -ft of maps for the list* of the Latin-American History classes, and on Founders Day it made a donation to the college and to the United Negro College Fund. The club’s la-t activity for the year is to be the entertaining of Dr. Luis Alberto Sanchez, prominent Latin American edu cator. on May 19. at an open meeting.
