This Year With the Music Department (Continued from Page 22) Orrin Suthern. the noted Negro or ganist. now director of the Music Depart ment at Bennett College, presented an organ recital in March. On his program were several numbers by Bach and Cesar Franck that the audience liked especially well. The Glee Club sang several spirituals on the pre-Founders Day broadcast which was made possible through the efforts of the Atlanta Spelman Club. After the broadcast representatives from The March of Time made pictures of the group and a record of the voices. On April 10 tin' Glee Club gave its concert under the direction of Mr. James. The performance was excellent. Faster Sunday Vespers brought a very pleasant surprise in the visit of Roland Hayes, who sang two numbers very ap propriate for the season — II ere You There? and Little Boy, Hon Old ire You ? Three student recitals were given in the Spring, the la-t on May 6. The major musical events on our campus were brought to a close by the chorus and or chestra concert on Ypril 28.
