The Eagle
Annette Evans, ’46
The class emblem of 46 is the Eagle,
symbolizing strength and wisdom. The
Senior Class has been guided by the
Eagle through four years of untiring
work. Strengthened and nurtured in
wisdom, w'e stand at the threshold of life,
ready to fly into the four quarters of the
world. We, like the Eagle, will be vic
torious over any assaults that stand in
the way of our becoming a success.
The graduating class of "46 presents
to the incoming class of ’50. the emblem
of the Eagle. May they grow and be
strengthened in wisdom and knowledge,
so that at the end of four years, when
they, too, have grown, they may fly away
and carry on in the spirit of the Eagle.

Noble in purpose, school of mine.

To uphold your standards through all

Though the road may seem so hard.

Your happiness will be our reward.

Shoulders high above the rest.
Wins first place in any test?
Who? (Clap! Clap!) the seniors!
Who’s the far more dignified,
Spelman’s joy and Spelman’s pride,
Taking life within their stride?
