In 1974. . .
The Clark College Debaters,
after being inactive for ap
proximately five years,
reorganized and won six
awards for their oratory ac
complishments.
The entire staff of Morris
Brown’s yearbook, The
Brownite, resigned following a
“contractual agreement” dis
pute.
Swing Phi Swing, Social
Fellowship, Inc., announced
its membership as a chartered
organization at Clark.
President Vivian Wilson

Coach Leonidas Epps
resigned as football coach and
Jessie McClardy succeeded
him.
The Founders Day speaker

President of the Institute for
Services to Education.
The McPheeters-Dennis
Hall became the tenth building
to be erected on Clark’s cam
pus.
The speaker for the
commencement exercise was
Richard Gordon Hatcher,
LL.D., Mayor of the City of
Gary, Indiana.
Vivian
Henderson, in a speech at the
106th Convocation, told the
students and faculty at Clark yj
that “due to the rising rate of B
inflation, tuition will be raised ™

a raise in salary, this year.”

The Men of Clark College
(MCC) in an effort to move out
into the community and show
the achievement of Clark’s
male graduates, held a joint
meeting with the Butler Street
YMCA Hungry Club Forum.
Tuition at Clark College in
creased an additional $100 in
August, bringing the total
tuition at Clark to $1,600 a
year.
World Heavyweight Boxing
Champion, Muhammad Ali,
was the guest speaker at
Archer Hall during a tribute
given to him by Morehouse
College.
The Atlanta University
Center paid tribute to the slain
civil rights leader, Dr. Martin
Luther King, Jr. on his 46th
birthday. The theme for the
celebration was “Moving
Toward The Dream.”
Clark Panthers: Arthur
Allen - wide receiver, Gregory
McCrary - tight end, and
James Wilson - tackle were
selected in the football draft by
Los Angeles Rams, Atlanta
Falcons, and Miami Dolphins.
On April 8 WCLK, Clark
College’s radio station, 91.9 on
F.M. dial celebrated its
