On the basis of the 1979 study,
nearly two-thirds of MARTA
riders make an average of eight
trips per week. MARTA patrons
who make more than eight trips
per week will realize significant
benefits by using either the
weekly or monthly TransCard
rather than paying single trip
fares. On an annualized basis,
persons using the monthly
TransCard will even save more

the weekly TransCard, will pay

The same person, using the mon

In a related action, the Board
adopted a half-fare policy for the
elderly and handicapped at all
times except during the morning
rush hour (6 a.m. to 9 a.m.) Mon

elderly and handicapped riders
were required to paythefullfare
