Nothing Beats Quality
By Linda Toon
What was said to be true
years and years ago is still
terribly true today. "You only
get what you pay for." I have
tried it all and I can truly state
this for myself.
Since I-have grown up and
had the ever-so-interesting
task of shopping for myself, I
have learned that all of these
five and ten cent stores are
strictly that- five and ten cent
stores. Sure, you can find a
blouse for five bucks or an in
teresting pair of shoes for
twenty, but are you really
looking at what you are
buying? You wash the blouse
once or twice and one day you
are on your way out the door
when there is that loose string.
God forbid if you pull it!
Everything may fall to pieces.
Or, for instance, you are
walking down the street in
your fabulous new pair of
shoes when you look down
and realize one is ripped all the
way up the side. You thought
one felt lops*er than the other
but, no, not this. Yes, it has
happened to you, and you can
take them back to that store a
hundred times, but nothing
beats quality.
Sheer Energy
My $150.00 boots will last
me a lifetime and God I am
glad because I love them. My
cashmere sweaters and wool
slacks will never wear out, and
suit jackets will never go out
of style.
Who ever wants to spend
their life savings on
throwaways is their own
business. I love clothes too
much for that. I am not really
trying to give anyone a lecture
on how to buy clothes, but
everyone does have his own
opinion. Just think twice
before you pull that string!!
Legs, Legs, Legs
It is funny how something
you were born with could sud
denly become the center of
your appearance. During
childhood you are too busy
playing to give them any
thought. Upon adolescence
you know you need them. I
bet you're wondering what the
fuss is about. But womanhood
really does it? And getting to
the point of it all, where there
are legs, there are pantyhose.
For years women used to

wear plain pantyhose, usually
the color that blends with their
skintone. Then there was an
explosion of various styles
such as opaque colors and the
one with the line up the back
of the leg. Now there are dots,
stripes, lines, andeven
rhinestones.
Can you believe it? When
they were introduced around
1974, these hose were just
really falling into trend with
the others.
Talk about a pretty penny,
they start at $4.50 a pair and
for rhinestones $10.50 at some
stores. This is all a part of

Everyone is speaking about
the bright future that the 80's
hold in store and it should be
obvious to the eye. If you
stroll down Peachtree Street
you will definitely notice the
neon colored clothing that will
be worn by many of us in the
later part of spring, summer
and the early portion of fall.
Several of us have already
modeled these colors and
styles.
I remember that once in a
blue moon you would catch a
young man pimping around in
some wild colors that gave
your eyes one heck of a vision
test! But now the shocking
colors are fashionable to The
men and will be worn frequen
tly during the summer. The
Hawaiian shirts have proven
to be the largest color at
traction to the male consumer.
Just what the flashy colors
I- w v vcrv
will do for your personal ap-
pearence is not know, but it is
a fact that certain colors will
not highlight several folk. The
heavier people might want to
stay away from the truly
shocking colors because they
will only add to their shape, in
terms of lbs. Do not feel ex
cluded from the summer
fashions, though if you shop
wisely you may find an outfit
that is cut to take away those
extra inches. It will be nice to
put away those dark colors for
a while and step out into some
flashy beauty.
looking like a star, I guess. Of
course the cost of living has
emptied our pocketbooks, but
this is ridiculous!! The things
you have to pay for to look
your best these days.
Above all, pantyhose is
something new, and if you are
fashion conscious you will
check them out. They'll
become a habit!

If you think about it your

Many of us do not have the

opinions so voting is our alter

The majority of the bright
colored clothing will be made
out of cotton, this will help
eliminate some of the sticky
heat and give the wearer' a
cool comfortableraeling. A
If you are on a Budget your
wisest move is to buy early
and save a few dollars. The
demands for certain colors and
styles are not so great, so now
is your best chance to be good
to yourself and to your closet!
What's New
About Hats?
By Linda Toon
This article is particularly
for the woman who is working
her way through college. Now
is the time to make things
easier on yourself.
Are you tired of coming
home late to homework and
hair to roll up? Hats are
back!! The newest and easiest
escape to looking great.
Of course we all know that
hats have always been around
but the explosion had made it
seem like something new.
Everything is Paris, France.
Slant them, slide them,
whatever makes you look
good.
This particular style gives
anything you wear a touch of
class. Naturally what looks
good makes you feel good.
right? There are many dif
ferent new styles and you
might want to be on the
lookout.
Many people have the
ridiculus idea that they don't
look good in hats. With all the
different shapes and sizes there
is bound to be one for any and
everybody. So you can look
good without the flashy hair-
doos.
The new Spring selection is
in your favorite store now,
and just to let you know they
range anywhere from $10.00
to $100.00 depending on your
pocket preference. Go ahead!
Give it a try! Good luck and
enjoy!
