GAY & LESBIAN* Next Week’s Highlights DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION-Atlanta will be invaded by politicians, the media and gay/lesbian ■activists while the Demo's nominate their candidate. Gay/Lesbian activities include a production of "Street Theater" before -the "Welcome Gay Democrats" dinner (7/15), the Raucous Caucus (7/16), a national Rally, as well as the "Ballot Box Boogie and B-B-Q" (7/17), and a "Die-In" (7/18). ACT UP has tentatively scheduled a "Kiss-In" (7/18) and a Sodomy Protest (7/19). Housing volunteers are still needed for out-of-town activists. Call Gene or Tom at 377-4803. Highlights include a "Reign Dance Fundraiser" from 9 PM-2 AM on July 13th at Club Rio featuring the improvisational comedy troupe Laughing Matters, the Kodac Harrison Band and Someone and the Somebodies. GEORGIA SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL-Through August 14th at Oglethorpe University. Georgia's own Shakespeare company presents "A Midsummer Night's Dream" and "The Winter's Tale" in rotating repertory outdoors on the Oglethorpe campus. Performances run every evening except Monday and showtime is 8:00 PM. Pre-show performers will entertain picnickers beginning at 6:30 PM. Ticket prices are $12.50-$ 16.50. Call 264-0020 for details.
