Atlanta NAPWA Moves
to New Space
The Atlanta Chapter of NAPWA is pleased to announce
our relocation to a new office space. On January 1,
1988, we will be moving to 131 Ponce De Leon Avenue
(pictured above). We are all very excited about our new
space, as it will enable us to expand our services to serve
the needs of the HTV+ community in Atlanta. One of
the nicest features if the new space will be a drop-in
center. This will be a very comfortable space where
people can come by to relax, socialize, and gather the
latest information about treatments and alternatives. We
will also have a very flexible meeting room for
seminars, lectures and exercise programs.
Many people have worked long and hard to make this
space a reality, and our thanks goes out to them We owe
special thanks to all die people from Helping Hands,
who made this possible.
NAPWA Services
The Atlanta Chapter of the National Association of
People With AIDS was created in 1987 by and for
people with AIDS (PWAs) and people with AIDS-
Related Complex (PWARCs) to provide people affected
by the AIDS crisis with the information to enable them
to make well educated choices for themselves. It is a
promotion of the philosophy and practice of self
empowerment that will ultimately improve the quality
of all of our lives. Atlanta N’APWA"s programs assist
PWA's, PWARCs and HIV Positive individuals in
living with AIDS from day-to-day, making decisions for
their own lives. We are not service providers in the
traditional sense; we are people with AIDS and ARC

families.
The Atlanta NAPWA Office is a safe space for
PWAs and PWARCs in Atlanta that is a loving,
nurturing atmosphere fully accessible to all people.
There is a comfortable "living room" space where
PWAs and PWARCs can socialize, exchange
information, and relax.
Atlanta NAPWA Support Group offers a time for
PWAs, PWARCs and HIV Positives to meet and
exchange the important perspectives unique to their
conditions in the AIDS crisis. It also creates an
important opportunity for people to leant more about
current issues affecting them in the community.
Legal & Insurance Clinics are offered to help PWAs
and PWARCs with the unique problems they encounter
in these areas. Assistance is offered with preparing
living wills, last wills, and power of attorney. Insurance

valuable educational opportunities.
