Are our dollars the other route to liberation ?

You wouldn’t think homosexuality had anything
to do with eyeglasses or mortgages. Yet an opti
cal store and at least a dozen realtors are among
the perennial advertisers in Southern Voice and
other local gay publications.
We gay folk buy mostly the same things as our
non-gay counterparts, but when we have a
choice, we'll >ften spend our money at a business
that specifically welcomes us. From the
Stonewall Inn to the nearly 100 exhibitors at
Atlanta’s 1990 Business Expo, businesses owned
by gays or friendly to our community are so
important to us that they’re an integral part the
community itself.
