• Mr. and Mrs. William Cohen, of Ash-
burn, Ga., announce the engagement of
their daughter, Annie, to Herman R.
Kaminsky, of Brooklyn, N. Y., the wed
ding to occur in the late summer.
• Mr. and Mrs. R. A. Kunnes, of Thom
son, Ga., announce the engagement of
their daughter, Esther, to Jack Isenberg,
of Atlanta. The date of the marriage to
be announced later.
• Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Raider, of Chat
tanooga, Tenn., announce the engagement
of their daughter, Sarah, to Louis Cohen,
of Atlanta.
• Mr. and Mrs. David Sommers, of
Norfolk, Va., announce the engagement
of their daughter, Sara Helene, to Sidney
Goldberg Simons, of Columbus, Ga., the
wedding to take place in August.
• Mr. and Mrs. Max Goldberg, of Gas
tonia, N. C., announce the engagement of
their daughter, Bernice, to- Jack Lou
Drucker, of Chicago, Ill., the wedding
to take place in the early autumn.
• Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Kline announce
the engagement of their daughter, Ida,
to Mr. Jacob William Feldman, formerly
of Atlanta, now of Newark, N. J., the
marriage to be solemnized September 18.
• Mr. Arthur Haskin, of Macon, Ga., an
nounces the engagement of his daughter,
Esther, to Mr. Isaac Cohen, son of Mr.
and Mrs. Max Cohen, of Atlanta.
• Mrs. Anne Wolfson announces the en
gagement of her daughter, Freda, to
Oscar Dwoskin, the marriage to be
solemnized in July.
• The engagement of Miss Elsie Jacobs
to Irving Levy is announced, wedding
to be announced later. Miss Jacobs is
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. Jacobs,
formerly of Macon.
Births
• Mr. and Mrs. Isaac M. Wengrow an
nounce the birth of a daughter, Evelyn
Ann. Mrs. Wengrow was formerly
Sylvia Berger.
Marriages
• The wedding of Miss Marie Ullman,
daughter of the late Monte M. Ullman,
and Mrs. Ullman, and Jerome M. Levy,
of Demopolis, Ala., took place at the
home of the bride’s aunt, Mrs. Morris
M. Newfield, and Dr. Newfield, in Bir
mingham, Ala. Dr. Newfield read the
nuptial service in the presence of the im
mediate families and out-of-town guests.
Among those who attended were Mr. and
Mrs. B. J. Levy, Miss Erleyne Goodman,
Miss Knoxie Goodman, and Mrs. David
Levy, all of whom are of Demopolis,
Ala. After a wedding trip to the coast
and to the mountains of Tennesseee, Mr.
and Mrs. Levy will be at home in Demop
olis, where the former’s family has been
prominent for years.
• The marriage of Miss Belle Pearl-
man, of Americus, Ga., daughter of Mrs.
E. Pearlman, to Mr. Ike Gotlieb, of Bir
mingham, Ala., was solemnized at the
Thomas Jefferson Hotel, in Birmingham,
Ala., with Rabbi A. Bengis reading the
nuptial vows. Miss Ethel Pearlman, sis
ter of the bride, was maid of honor. Mrs.
J. Gotlieb was matron of honor. The
bride was given in marriage by her un
cle, Mr. J. B. Jacobs, of Atlanta. After
a wedding trip to Florida and Cuba, Mr.
and Mrs. Gotlieb will be at home at the
Thomas Jefferson Hotel. Out of town
guests were Mrs. Clarence A. Ross, Gas
tonia, N. C.; Mrs. L. Blumberg, Mrs.
N. Kantor, Miss Ethel Kantor, Chatta
nooga, Tenn.; Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Jacobs,
Mr. and Mrs. R. Blumberg, Mr. and
Mrs. J. Radunsky, of Atlanta, Ga.
• 'The marriage of Miss Irene Kassler,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Kassler,
of Gaffney, S. C., to Mr. Jack Fred, of
Charlotte, N. C., took place recently in
Gaffney, at the home of the bride’s pa
rents.
• The wedding ceremony of Miss Perle
Eplan to Mr. A. A. Adair, took place at
the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and
Mrs. S. B. Eptan, on Washington Street.
Rabbi Tobias Geffen read the marriage
service, which was witnessed by mem
bers of the two families and a small com
pany of close friends. The bride was
given in marriage by her father, S. B.
Eplan. Following a motor trip to points
of interest in the east, Mr. and Mrs.
Adai r will return to Atlanta for resi
dence.
• The marriage ceremony of Miss Helen
Smullian to Sydney Srochi was per
formed recently at the Atlanta Woman’s
Club, with Rabbis Harry Epstein and
Tobias Geffen performing the ceremony.
Miss Sylvia Smullian, sister of the bride,
acted as maid of honor, while Mrs. Sam
J. Cohen, sister of the groom, was matron
(tf honor. Little Miss Myrtle Srochi,
niece of the groom, acted as flower girl.
Mr. Sam J. Cohen, brother-in-law of the
groom, was best man. The bride and
groom left for an extensive motor trip
throughout the northeast and upon their
return will reside in their apartment on
Ponce de Leon Avenue. Among out-of-
town guests were: Mr. and Mrs. S.
Levinson, of Columbus, Ga.; Mr. and
Mrs. Harry Miller, of Chattanooga,
lenn.; Mr. and Mrs. Sam Millender, of
Dalton, Ga.; Mrs. M. Katz, of Dalton,

• Mr. and Mrs. M. Gavron announce
the marriage of their daughter, Freeda,
to Mr. A1 Ablekoff, of Durham, N. C.

• Mrs. Charles Adler has returned from
Ne\v \ ork City, where she spent the
past two months.
• Mr. and Mrs. I. A. Zion has been
the guests of their parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Jacob Miller, in Baltimore, Md.
• Miss Eleanor Calvert, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Y. C. Calvert, of Columbia,
b. C., won one of the free scholarships
offered by the National Federation of
1 emple Sisterhoods, for a summer school
course for teacher training at the Hebrew
Union College in Cincinnati. There were
ten of these given throughout the United
States. Miss Calvert is the daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Y. C. Calvert.
• Sam Zion, William Wise, Milton
Rauzin and Julian Berman spent a week
at Lake Burton and adjoining lakes on
a camping trip.
• Louis Smith, Julian Berman and Sam
Zion enjoyed a short stay on Tybee
Beach.
