announce the birth of a daughter, Mar
garet. Mrs. Strauss is the former Miss
Peggy Hirsch, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Joseph If. Hirsch.
• Dr. and Mrs. Irving Goldstein an
nounce the birth of a boy. Mrs. Goldstein
was formerly Miss Helen Mendel, daugh
ter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Mendel.
• Mr. and Mrs. I. Markin, of Winter
Haven, Fla., announce the 'birth of a
son, Martin. Mrs. Markin, the former
Miss Jennie Epstein, is a daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Morris Epstein.

• Mr.and Mrs. Zuckerman, of Durham,
N. C., announce the engagement of
daughter, Alice, to Mr. Herman Weitz-
man, formerly of Atlanta. Ceremony
will be solemnized in December.
• Mr. Joe Weinberg announces the en
gagement of his daughter, Nettie, to
Shea Diamond, the date of the wedding
to be announced later.
• Mr. and Mrs. S. J. Gold announce the
engagement of their daughter, Esther, to
Mr. Harry Clein, the date of the wed
ding to be announced later.
• Mr. and Mrs. David Klein announce
the engagement of their daughter, Jennie,
to Mr. Joseph Gardberg, of New Orleans
and Atlanta, the date of the marriage
to be announced later.
Marriages
• Mr. and Mrs. L. Clein announce the
marriage of their daughter, Doris, to
Oscar Levin, of Indianapolis, Indiana.
The young couple will make their home
in Indianapolis.
• Mrs. Sarah Klotz announces the mar
riage of her daughter, Minnie, to Ephram
Merman. The ceremony took place in the
home of the bride’s brother, Mr. Sol
Klotz, with Rabbi Harry H. Epstein offi
ciating.
• Mr. and Mrs. J. Meltzer announce the
marriage of their daughter, Mertha Klein,
to Leo Hirsch. The marriage was solem
nized at the home of the bride’s parents.
• Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Allen Cerf an
nounce the marriage of their daughter,
Marjorie, to Albert Marshall Wise, of
Columbus, Georgia. The ceremony took
place at the home of the bride’s parents
on Springdale Road. Rabbi David Marx
officiated. The couple will make their
home at 1520 Wildwood Avenue, in Co
lumbus. Among guests from out of town
who attended the wedding were Mr. and

• The annual ball given by the Atlanta
chapter of Senior Hadassah was held at
the Shrine mosque. Cabaret attractions
featured the dance team of Rodna Elo
Rodelpha and Wilda B. Wood, from

• The Jewish Progressive Club, of At
lanta, has been carrying out successfully
many interesting social events this »*a-
son. A large attendance of members and
guests was evidenced at November af
fairs that consisted of: An Athletic Car
nival and entertainment, dutch supper;
open house, twice; Armistice night dance;
Sunday night dance, and Thanksgiving
dance. The present club administration
has been making an extended effort to
provide entertainment for members, and
as a result many new members have been
enrolled.
• Mrs. Allen Davis, Jr., and young son,
have returned to Cincinnati after visiting
Mrs. Davis’ parents, Mr. and Mrs.
George Gershon.
• Mr. and Mrs. Gus Strauss, formerly
of Louisville, Ky., are now making their
home in Atlanta.
• Mrs. Herbert Haas has returned from
Chicago, where she visited relatives.
• Mrs. Jeanne I.issauer of New York,
was a recent visitor at the Cox Carlton
Hotel, where she was the guest of her
sister, Mrs. Melvin Bodenheimer.
• Mrs. Lena Morrison, of Savannah, Ga.,
has been the guest of her son and daugh
ter, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Morrison.
• Mrs. J. Bigler has been visiting her
daughter, Mrs. Max Kuttner, in Rome,
Georgia.
• Mrs. Howard Wolff, of Wichita, Kan
sas, was the recent guest of Mr. and
Mrs. Reginald Goldsmith.
• Mrs. Adolph Samuels is in Orlando,
Fla., where she is visiting Mr. and Mrs.
Sol Samuels.
• The Round-Towners Club sponsored
a script dance at the Atlanta Woman’s
Club.
• Mrs.Tillie Sweet, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. M. Isikoff, left recently with
her son, Marshall, to join her husband
in New York City.
• The Coterie Club held a theatre party
recently.
• The many friends of Mr. William
Eplan will be glad to learn that he is
recuperating from his recent illness.
• The Sigma Gamma Club of Georgia
Tech and Oglethorpe University enter
tained its members and pledges at a
wiener roast at Cooper’s Lake.
• Mr. and Mrs. I. T. Cohen and their
daughter, Barbara, are now making
their home in Charlotte, N. C. Mr.
Cohen has been appointed Piedmont
District Counsel for American Society
of Composers, Authors, and Publishers.

was delightfully entertained by her chil
dren, who gathered in Savannah for the
ocacsion. Mrs. Weill’s seven son* nave
a birthday dinner for her at Brushwood
on-the-Vernon, and Mrs. Ina W. Lew en
tertained with a buffet supper in her
honor at Mrs. Levy’s home. The children
