• I he many friends of Mrs. M. Gold
berg, of Waynesboro, Georgia, will be
delighted to learn of her rapid recovery
from surgical treatment being adminis
tered at the University Hospital, in Au
gusta, Ga. Mrs. Goldberg hopes to re
turn shortly to Waynesboro.
• Of recent social affairs of the college
contingent of the I'niversity of Georgia,
in Athens, was a bridge given by Mrs.
A. Brooks in compliment to the Alpha
Sigma Phi Sorority and pledges. After
the games a delicious supper was served
and an impromptu program was presented
by the pledges. 'Hie patronesses of this
sorority are: Mrs. A. Brooks, Mrs. Abra
ham Shusterman. Mrs. Jake Bernstein,
Mrs. Harry Loef, Mrs. Simon Michael,
Mrs. B. P. Joel, Mrs. Jacob B. Joel, Mrs.
George WoJpert and Mrs. A. Greenhut.
Mrs. Wolpert and Mrs. Greenhut as
sisted the hostess, Mrs. Brooks.
• Mrs. Maurice Marks spent some time
recently in Brunswick, Ga.
• Mr. and Mrs. Albert Sun of Miami,
Fla., were recent guests at the Georgian
Terrace Hotel.
• Mrs. L. B. Joel has spent several
weeks in Baltimore as the guest of her
sister.
• Mr. Herbert Haas has returned from
a business trip to Washington, I). C.
• Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Samuels were
hosts at open house recently honoring
their daughter, Miss Hazel Samuels.
• Mr. and Mrs. A. A. I’nger, of Miami,
were recent guests at the Biltinore Hotel.
• Miss Bee Rich, a junior at Smith Col
lege and daughter of Mr. anti Mrs. Wal
ter H. Rich., has been made a member
of German Club, a departmental club in
which membership depends on interest
and proficiency in German.
• The Mayfair Club opened their winter
season of social activity with a buffet
dinner dance at the Biltmore Hotel.
• The Standard Club entertained at an
elaborate opening dinner and dance held
at the club.
• Miss Rose Tesler is in Goldsboro,
N. C., visiting her sister during the
Thanksgiving Holidays.
• The Dozenette Club celebrated it*
fourth anniversary at a dinner and
theatre party, followed by a pajama
party held at the home of Miss Harriet
Sevolitz, on Fourth Street. The follow
ing are the officials of the club: Mis#
Bernice Berman, president; Miss Har
riet Sevolitz, vice-president; Miss Shir
ley Makover, secretary, and Miss
Phylis Rosenblatt, treasurer.
• Messrs. David J. Gold and Arthur
Rubinson will drive to Chicago on a
business trip.
• Mr. and Mrs. Joe Moret, and Mr.
Jacob Moret, have recently returned
from Miami Beach, Fla.
• Mr. and Mrs. I. T. Cohen and their
daughter, Barbara, spent the Thanks
giving Holidays with their parents, Mr.
and Mrs. S. J. Gold.
• Mrs. Joseph Ferst, of New York, is
the guest of her daughter, Mrs. Moses
Levy, in Augusta, Ga.
• Mr. J. Willie Levy, who is now sta
tioned at Fort McPherson, Atlanta, Ga.,
spent several days with his parents, Dr.
and Mrs. Moses Levy, in Augusta, Ga.
• Mrs. J. N. Hirsch entertained at a
Thanksgiving dinner at her home in
Druid Hills. Her sons, Samuel Hirsch,
Lewis Hirsch and Harold Hirsch and the
personnel of the J. N. Hirsch organiza
tion were honor guests.
