SENIOR HADASSAH TO HOLD
DONOR DINNER
ENJOYABLE AFFAIR ANTICI
PATED FOR PASSOVER DANCE
Senior Hadassah announces
through Mrs. J. J. Heilman and
Mrs. M. A. Greenblatt, co-chair
men, that in lieu of the Annual
Donor Luncheon, the Atlanta
Chapter will have a Donor Dinner
on Monday, May 29th, at 7:00 p.
m. at the Jewish Progressive Club.
Proceeds of this project go to the
Hadassah Medical Organization,
which is the largest unit of the en
tire system of health work that
Hadassah maintains in Palestine.
The hospitals owned or subsidiz
ed by Hadassah In Palestine, the
clinics in urban and rural districts
and the Straus health centers in
Tel Aviv and Jerusalem are main
tained by the money raised for the
Hadassah Medical Organization.
The increased demands on all of
the Hadassah service due to the
unprecedented increase in immi
grant population, have given a
greater responsibility to American
Jewish women intei^sted in the
upbuilding of Palestine.
The Hadassah health service
functioning in the Holy Land for
nearly twenty-five years, must meet
the situation created by the steady
influx of new-comers who are rea
dily susceptible to diseases due to
change in climate and diet. Had
assah supervises the health of th\
new-comers in immigrant hostels,
spreads health education through
leaflets in a variety of languages,
urging attendance at free health
lectures in the health centers, at
the infant welfare stations and all
other institutions for preventive
health wo^Jc.
The Donor Dinner committee will
start their work right after the
Passover holidays, and the ladies
are urged to have their dime banks
ready. The minimum donation for
ladies is five dollars, and gentlemen
will be charged one dollar per
plate.
The Passover Dance, sponsored
by the Alliance Boys’ Club Council,
on Sunday evening, April 28, gives
all indications of being one of the
finest social affairs given at the
Alliance. The committee in charge
of the dance is hard at work to see
that everyone attending will have a
“big time.”
Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Loeb, Mr. and
Mrs. Herman Heyman, Mr. and
Mrs. Louis Geffen, and Mr. Max
Cuba will be the Council’s honor
guests at the dance.
Tickets are 50c a couple and have
been distributed by Abe Rice, tick
et chairman, to all boys’ clubs at
the Alliance.
Proceeds of the dance will go to
ward helping equip a men’s lounge
room at the Alliance. Everyone is
urged to back this affair 100 per
cent.
schools and trades, declared In a
speech in Jassy. Again emphasiz
ing that he is not an anti-Semite,
the former premier asserted that
Rumania has more Jews than it
can absorb, and hence anti-Semit
ism results.
The Jewish National Fund is go
ing to run an all-star entertain
ment at the Yankee Stadium this
summer. Eddie Cantor is the ma-
jordomo of the artistic program,
and Dave Lipsky will be respon
sible for making New York Nation
al Fund-conscious on June 24.
Dr. Moses Einhorn, the stomach
specialist, is preparing the chuppah
for Jacqueline Salamons, the emi
nent violinist. They will be mar
ried this summer.
