Leaders Protest
(Continued from Page 1)
American Jewry in connection
therewith.
Mr. Fertig appealed for "liberal
outlook and cooperation of gov
ernments and people” in the solv
ing of a problem which ‘‘involves
far more than what Jews alone
can do. Profoundest sympathy
achieves nothing if not translated
into effications means of either
ending the terror or relieving the
terrorized.”
Dr. Joseph Tenenbaum, Chair
man of the Joint Boycott Council
of the American Jewish Congress
and Jewish Labor Committee, de
clared that this organization, “is
ready to submerge its identity in
an all-American boycott compris
ing all American organizations
and individuals, irrespective of
race or creed.” He appealed to
William Green, President of the
American Federation of Labor, to
assume the leadership in the or
ganization of this nation-wide boy
cott movement.
“A well organized World-Boy
cott movement means the end of
Hitlerism.”

H. Sehiff and other partners of the
banking house of Kuhn, Loeb and
Company, all now dead, as “en
gaged in this work of destruction,”
revealed no such documentary re
port. “It is quite certain,” Chief
Wilson declared, “that no such
report was ever made by the Unit
ed States Secret Service.”
Banking House Denies Charges
The firm of Kuhn, Loeb and
Company stated that “this firm
has never had any financial rela
tions with any government in Rus
sia, whether Czarist, Kerensky or
Communist. The Kerensky gov
ernment established in 1919 re
ceived loans from the United
States Government. The late Ja
cob H. Sehiff, then senior partner
in this firm, did not in fact sub
scribe to any such loan. He had
no relations with any fomenters of
the Bolshevist uprising being ut
terly out of sympathy with their
methods and principles.”
Trotzky Answers Coughlin
Mexico City,—Even Leon Trot
zky in a message from Mexico
City contradicted Father Charles
E. Coughlin’s charges that he had
received funds from Jacob H.
Sehiff, onetime partner in the
banking firm of Kuhn, Loeb and
Company. “The name of Jacob H.
Sehiff means nothing to me,” said
Trotzky, “if Mr. Coughlin indicat
ed an imporatnat sum, then it
must be pure invention.”
