Wear Mogen David
To Spite Nazis
The suggestion that Jews in
Russia should wear a Mogen Da
vid “to spite the Fascists” is made
in an article by David Bergelson,
well-known Jewish writer.
Citing the population in France,
Belgium and Holland as examples,
| the article says that those French
men, Belgians and Dutchmen who
donned yellow Mogen Davids in
sympathy with the Jews thereby
displayed their contempt for the
Nazi anti-Jewish laws in the most
conspicuous way. “Not all Jews
ever considered it their duty to
wear the ancient Jewish emblem,
but now when the Nazis consider
the Mogen David a brandmark,
Jews who never thought of wear
ing this insignia are demonstra

noted Jewish writer declares in
his article.

INDIANAPOLIS, (JTA)—Federal authorities said here that William
Dudley Pelley, anti-Semitic leader of the Silver Shirts who faces a

denied, has filed notice that he would appeal to the Circuit Court at
Chicago. The anti-Semitic leader also is wanted by North Carolina on
a conviction under the state’s blue sky laws.

there was “every possibility” that Pelley would be turned over to
North Carolina before beginning his 15-year federal term. Pelley algo
faces trial on another federal indictment charging him and 26 others
with subversive activities.
