Many of you don’t quite realize
that the Federation is more than a
relief agency. It has served the :
Jewish community of Atlanta for [
well now half a century in a va
riety of ways. It renders what is I
technically called an undifferen
tiated social service program.
The Federation maintains the
following service#:
An informal placement bureau
helping young people to find em
ployment. A room registry service
for those who have furnished
rooms to rent and serving those
who seek desirable locations with
Jewish families.
In cooperation with the Council
of Jewish Women assistance is
given to those requiring aid with
naturalization and citizenship pa
pers.
Government and other commun
ity social resources are open to
Jewish citizens as well as others.
Very often folks need advice and
assistance regarding their use- The
Federation is familiar with their
workings. Its workers have, thru
many years of experience, estab
lished fine contacts with govern
ment offices. They can, therefore,
serve as intermediaries in inter
preting needs and services avail
able. An example of such service
is the relationship with the Hous
ing Authority in helping appli
cants get in one of the housing!
projects.
The foregoing are but a few of j
the many services being rendered
to the Jewish community by the
Federation. These are the day by
day activities of a welfare organ
ization which endeavors to main
tain the morale of the people on
