Awarded Air Medal
ATHENS—Julian Rubin, Savan
nah student at the University of
Georgia in Athens, was awarded
the Air Medal this week for mis
sions flown in the Gilbert-Mar
shall Islands campaigns in 1945
while on duty with the United
States Navy. Mr. Rubin was an
aviation ordnance man. first class,
and was discharged this spring in
time to enter the university dur
ing the summer.
He is a sophomore, taking pre
medical school courses, and is a
member of Tau Epsilon Phi fra
ternity.

Dies at Valdosta
VALDOSTA, Ga, Nov. 19—Har
ry Lazarus, 84, well-known resi-

at his home Nov. 18.

Mrs. Ann Zelkind, of Lake City,
Fla.; Miss Rose Lazarus, of Val
dosta. and Mrs. Ethel Hopkins, of
Brewton Ala.; six brothers, Wil
liam azarus, of Sparks, Ga.; Louis
Lazarus, of Moultrie; Israel and
Philip Lazarus, of Quitman, and
Sam and Joe Lazarus, of Valdosta;
three sisters, Mrs. Sarah Michel-
son, Perry, Fla.; Mrs. Fred Rosen
