Program for
Wednesday
A special presentation on Jew*
ish music is being sponsored by
the newly formed Atlanta Jewish
Music Council. The presentation,
entitled “What Is Jewish Music?",
will include narration on the de
velopment of Jewish music and
the playing of copious recording
of available Jewish music. Louis
Schwartzman, Executive Director
of the Atlanta Bureau of Jewish
Educator, will be the narrator.
“What Is Jewish Music?” wil!
be held at the A. A. Educational
Center on Wednesday, Feb. 18.
1948, at 8:15 p. m. All lovers of
Jewish (music as an integral part
of the culture of the Jews are in
vited to attend this novel presen
tation.

Judges Scan Ideals
To Aid Choosing
“Beauty” at Dance
Five Atlantians have been busy
this week reviewing various ideals
in preparation for judging Masa
da’s beauty contest Sunday night.
The group will select “Miss
Valentine of ’48” at the benefit
dance from among the dates of
members and friends.
Dr. Joe Giazer, member of At
lanta Zionist Youth Commission,
a dentist, will be the specialist on
the smile-ability of candidates.
The two physicians on the
judging team, Dr. Irving C.reen-
,j> rg, commander, Atlanta Jew
ish War Veterans, and Dr. Rose
Lahman, president, B. & P. Ha-
dassan, will concentrate m health
aspects.
Mr:;. E. M. Manning, president
Atlanta Hadassah, will give par
ticular attention to home-making
qualities. Adolph Rosenberg. The
Southern Israelite editor, is the
bachelor member of the group of
judges.
Alex Miller, ADL director and
immediate past president of At
lanta B’nai B'rith, will award the
prize to the winner.

The Alliance Varsity team is
getting ready to repeat last year’s
victory. Coach Elliott Rubin has
not yet announced his final line
up but will do so shortly follow
ing several practice competitions
soon to be played.
