Declaring that “world Commun
ism is a deadly menace to freedom
and peace, which menace must be
resisted,” the statement said that
“not all the self-styled enemies of
Communism are friends of liber
ty.”
“General Franco actively and
openly supported the forces that
for a time enslaved Europe and
sought to suppress civil liberties
and religious freedom,” the state
ment continued. “For America to
bolster financially this ruthless
dictator is to betray the. faith of
those who died for liberty on the
battlefields of the wprld.”
The organizations commended
President Truman and the Secre
tary of State for their “forthright

and Mrs. Samuel Allan Goldberg I
of Atlanta. Mrs. Goldberg is the
former Hannabelle Hirsch of
Charleston, S. C.
The future bridegroom was
graduated from Georgia Military
Academy, and received his A. B.
degree from the University of Ga.
where he served as president of
Phi Epsilon Pi social fraternity.
Mr. Goldberg was president of Phi
Kappa Literary Society, a member
of the Varsity Debating Team, and
holds membership in the Gridiron
Club. He holds a commission as a
Second Lieutenant in the United
States Air Forces, and is schedule
to report to Randolph Field for
j pilot training in grade sometime
in October. He is now a junior of-
! ficer of the firm of Allan-Grayson
| Realty Company.
