and was associated more recently
with the Washington Housing As
sociation, a Community Chest
agency engaged in improving
housing conditions in the District
of Columbia. He served with the
Marine Corps during World War

Dr. Lamm, a historian with
much experience in Jewish com
munity organization both abroad
and in the United States, came to
New York from Scranton, Pa.
After completing his studies at the
University of Kaftsas City and
Washington University, he re
ceived his doctorate in Jewish
historiography at Erlangen Uni
versity, in Germany.

formation is under the supervision
of a committee headed by Harry
Starr; other members of the com
mittee are Salo W. Baron, David
Bernstein, Joshua Block, Moshe
Davis, Mrs. Israel Goldstein, Philip
Goodman, Maurice B. Hexter, Isi
dore S. Meyer, Edwin Wolf II,
and Harry Zeitz.
