of our community on September
ll. This ‘service provides Sift
transportation for the children
of thd 'afternoon schools. To date
the Bureau has received approxi
mately 525 requests for trans
portation from the different
afternoon schools. All of these
childreri, with the exception of
approximately 25, have been
routed and the parents have re
ceived the necessary information.
The cost to the community of
this service is far greater than
the income which is received
from transportation fees. It is in
teresting to know that more
that sixty percent of the children
of the afternoon Hebrew schools
use the central transportation
service.
Hebrew High School:
On Sunday morning, Septem
ber 10, the Central Hebrew High
School of Atlanta began its
fourth year of operation. The
Hebrew High School is conduct
ed by the Atlanta Bureau of Jew
ish Education. Graduates of syna
gogue afternoon schools and of
the Hebrew Academy are eligible
to enroll in the Hebrew High
School. The instructors include
Mrs. Miriam P. Anisfeld who is
also the administrator of the
school, Mr. Sidney Berkowitz and
Mr. Avraham Raphaelly. The
courses of study include: Torah,
Prophets, Hebrew Literature and
History, with special emphasis on
Hebrew comprehension and con
versation.
All classes of the Hebrew High
School are held at the Atlarita
Jewish Community Center and
rriebt on Sunday morning froth
m a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and on
Tuesday evening from 7:Q* p.m
to 9:00 p.m. Presently there are
38 students enrolled in the He
brew High School.
On the morning of August 2*,
nine students from the Hebrew
High School qualified to take
one and two year examinations
at Grady High School for Mod
ern Hebrew language study cred
it at Grady. All of these students
who took the examination passed

Kennedy’s primaries and presi
dential campaigns.
His appearance will spark the
Donor Dinner and Brunch given
annually to raiset funds for voca
tional education.
