The Pioneer Women Club I will
have its annual Hannkah Latke
Party at the next regular meet
ing, Dec. 13, at 1:30 p.m., at the
Atlanta Jewish Community Cen
ter. Mrs. Gertrude Krick will be
guest speaker.

ORT Open Board Meet
An open board meeting will be
held by Women’s American ORT
on Tuesday, Dec. 12, at 10:30 a.m.
at the Mayfair Club.
Report on the convention re
cently held In Philadelphia, will
be given by the president, Mrs.
Frances Bressler, who served as a
delegate. All members are urged
td attend this meeting.

UJA Conferences
Atlanta representatives will
attend both the 47th annual meet
ing of the Joint Distribution
Committee, to be held in New
York City on December 9, and
the 24th annual conference of the
United Jewish Appeal, to be held
in the same city on December
10, it was announced this week.
Delegates will include Mrs
Sidney Janus, Samuel Rothberg
and Edward M. Kahn.
At these conferences represen
tatives from all over the United
States will be gathered to lay
plans for the 1962 campaign.
They will hear messages from
outstanding personalities from
Israel and national leaders of the
United Jewish Appeal.
Upon their return it is planned
to hold a community assembly
to receive a report from the At
lanta delegation which attended
the 30th General Assembly of the
Council of Jewish Federations
and Welfare Funds in Dallas in
October as well as a report of
what took place at the confer
ences in New York City.
Kahn to Attend
NCR AC Institute
Edward M. Kahn, Atlanta Jewish
Community Council director, will
attend a professional institute for
executives sponsored by the Na
tional Community Relations Ad
visory Committee in New York
City on December 12, it was an
nounced this week.
He will address the opening
session of the 5th Annual Insti
tute on the subject “National
Joint Program Planning and Lo
cal Needs.”

EVENTS
HEBREW HIGH SCHOOL: On
Sunday, Dec. 10, the Hebrew
High School, conducted by the
Bureau, will hold its Hanukah
Assembly at 11 a.m. at the At
lanta Jewish Community Center
in Room 2. Parents and members
of the community are cordially
invited. The High School classes
will participate on the program
with a short presentation based
on class work.
The assembly will also include
a Hanukah Sing, the playing of
Dreidel and appropriate refresh
ments.
The Hebrew High School has
a registration of thirty-nine stu
dents between the ages of thir
teen and sixteen. The faculty of
the Hebrew High SchOdl con
sists of: Mrs. Miriam P. Anis-
feld, administrator; Sidney Berk-
owitz, Irving Borstein and Avrom
Raphaelly.
INSTITUTE OF JEWISH STU-
IES: The tenth and final session
of the Fall Term of the Institute
will be held on Wednesday night,
December 13. The sessions will
conclude with an Assembly for
Faculty members and students
and their guests. At that time, the
program of studies for the Win
ter Term, which will resume on
Wednesday night, January 10
will be presented and students
will be given the opportunity for
early registration. The Southern
Israelite will present fuller in
formation.

Institute for the Fall Term-and
the Winter Term—include: Mrs.
Miriam P. Anisfeld, director of
Extension Activities of the Bu
reau; Irving Borstein, staff mem
ber of the Hebrew Academy;
