GA-SC Bond Workers Sees
Project Results in Israel

14 Nations to be Represented
At Israeli Consular Reception

As guests of the Israel Army, they spent a full day at the army camp in an undisclosed part of
Israel. Members of the Congolese Army training in paratroopers were in full attendance at this
camp. Israel was chosen by the Congo government to train these paratroopers.
Fourteen Consulates have officially accepted invitations to at
tend the forthcoming Reception and Dinner for the Consular Corps
of Atlanta, sponsored by Consul of Israel and Madame Zeev Dover,
to be held on Tuesday evening, October 8, at the Mayfair Club.
The following Consuls and the nations they
represented will participate in the dinner which
will salute Israel’s First Year of Redemption of
Israel Bonds. They are listed alphabetically:

the Mid-East this past summer.
CARL ALPERT of Technion Uni
versity in Haifa (considered the
MIT of Israel) discusses higher
education and what it means to
the Jewish state before a group
of Israel bond leaders, including
Mr. Parson, touring the country
for a personal inspection of where
the Bond dollars go and what
these achieve. Mrs. Parson w'as
secretary to Mr. Alpert fifteen
years ago when he was a resi
dent of the United States. The
group also inspected the full fa
cilities of Technion and partici
pated In dedication ceremonies.

together diplomatic representa
tives of European South Ameri

tries who are presently stationed
in the Atlanta region. The oc
casion will serve, too, to hail
Israel’s First Year of Redemp
tion of Israel Bonds.
Guests of honors, Israel’s Min
ister Plenipotentiary to the
United States, Mordechai Gazit
and his wife, will be toasted by
the assemblage, with imported
Israeli Champagne.
Israeli Consul Dover On
‘Today in Georgia” TV
Zeev Dover, Israel’s Consul
in Atlanta, has been invited
by WSB-TV to appear on
their “Today in Georgia,”
show, with Miss Ruth Kent,
on Friday Oct. 4 at 9 a.m., to
narrate a variety of colored
slides depicting Israel as It
is today.
Mr. Dover’s appearance on
the television show will help
to publicize the Dinner and
Reception on Tuesday even
ing, October 8th, at the May-
fair CJub—an occasion lor,
celebrating Israel’s First Year
of Redemption of Israel Bonds
and a "SaJUte” from Israel
to the Atlanta Jewish com
munity for its continuing sup
port of the Israel Bond pro
gram.

Top-Ranking Diplomat
To Be Reception Guest
Ambassador Mordechai Gazit,
Minister Plenipotentiary of Is
rael to the United States and
his wife will be guests of honor
at the Reception and Dinner for
the Consular Corps of Atlanta,
Tuesday evening, October 8, at
the Mayfair Club.
The event is being sponsored
and “under the patronage of’
the Consul of Israel in Atlanta,
Zeev Dover and Mrs. Dover, who
will play hosts to many of their
Consular colleagues in the South
east area and representing coun
tries in Europe, South America
and Latin America.
An invitation is being extend
ed to Atlanta members of the
national honorary society of De
fenders, Guardians, Sponsors,
Builders and Trustees, an elite
distinction applied to purchasers
of Israel Bonds in denominations
that range from $500 to $10,000.
Admission to the affair is
through the 1963 purchase of a
minimum $500 Bond, per couple,
or through the sale of $1,000 in
Bonds.
Israel’s Minister Gazit was
bom in Istanbul, Turkey and in
1933, the family migrated to
Palestine. He received his pri
mary education in Tel-Aviv and
in 1946 graduated from the He
brew University in Jerusalem.
During the 1947-1948 War of
Independence, Mr. Gazit served
in the Jerusalem Brigade and
when the new state was estab
lished he joined the Israel Min
istry for Foreign Affairs.
In 1952, he served as First
Secretary of the Embassy of
Israel in London and in 1955 as
Charge d’affaires of the Israel
Legation in Rangoon, Burma.
He came to Washington, in his
present post as Minister Pleni
potentiary, in 1960.
